Scholarships for North Carolina’s Latino StudentsBecas para los estudiantes latinos de Carolina del NorteEducation is an important part of our mission here at El Pueblo, Inc., and we have made it a priority inour youth outreach to aid and encourage North Carolina’s Latino youth to pursue higher education. We realize the cost of college can be a major financial barrier to higher education for Latino youth, butwe also know that there are in fact ways to pay for college out there. It may just take some work to findthem. El Pueblo, Inc. has compiled this list of scholarships for Latino students in North Carolina in orderto aid them in their search for ways to pay for college. The scholarships are listed alphabetically.Scholarships with special program requirements are in a separate list following the general scholarships. At the end of the list, the names of the scholarships are also listed by the educational level of theapplicant in order of deadline (fall to summer). Scholarships that do not have a citizenshiprequirement are indicated by the symbol: . Local scholarships are indicated by thesymbol: . Remember to check with your school’s Guidance Office or Financial Aid Office for localscholarships offered to students at your school. Local community organizations, employers, employersof parents, and your church would also be good places to check for additional scholarship opportunities. If you have questions or need help with the scholarship and financial aid search, feel free to contact ourHigher Education Coordinator Amanda Giese at (919) 835-1525, ext. 227 or email her atamanda@elpueblo.org.
