Doors are to be manufactured ofthe finest quality 16 gauge cold rolledstretcher leveled steel or galvannealedsteel (specify). All doors shall be fullflush construction and 1-3/4" (44) thick.Doors shall be reinforced, stiffened,insulated, and sound deadened STC 46capable with continuous 22 gaugevertical steel stiffeners spaced not morethan 6" (152) apart. The stiffener endsshall be welded together at the top andbottom ends, perforated flush top capstandard. All spaces between stiffenersshall be insulated with .75 pounddensity fiberglass insulation. The lockand hinge edge of each door shall bewelded with a centered hairline seamthe full height of the door (757S) ORboth the lock and hinge edge of eachdoor shall be welded, filled and groundsmooth (seamless) the full height of thedoor (757N) OR the lock and hingeedge of each door may have the centerseam continuously wire welded the fullheight of the door, filled and groundsmooth (757T). The lock edge shall bereinforced full height by a 14 gaugecontinuous one piece channel xextruded templating. The hinge edgeshall be reinforced full height by a 12gauge continuous one piece channel,formed and tapped for hinges. Top andbottom of the door shall be closed with16 gauge channels. Doors shall havebeveled 1/8" (3) in 2" (51) lock edge andsquare hinge edge. Doors shall bethoroughly cleaned and receive an ironphosphate treatment prior to receivingone coat of prime paint. Minimumhardware reinforcement shall consist ofthe following: Closers, 14 gaugechannels; Butts and Locks as previouslyspecified herein.Doors shall be 847 Series 14 gauge, coldrolled or galvannealed steel asmanufactured by CURRIES, Mason City,Iowa. Doors shall comply withspecifications defined herein forCommercial Security Hollow MetalDoors and Frames. Doors shall havepassed performance criteria set forth bynationally recognized standards such asHMMA 862-87. Removable glazingstops are to be 18 gauge concealedtype. Doors shall be 1-3/4" (44) thickand reinforced with 18 gauge stiffenerswelded to each face skin 4" (102) oncenter with spot welds 4" (102) oncenter the full height of the door. Thestiffener ends are to be welded togetherthe full width of the supporting webspan at the top and bottom of the door.The standard core shall be insulatingand sound-deadening 1 lb densityfiberglass insulation. The lock edgeshall be reinforced full height by a 14gauge continuous one piece channel xextruded templating. The hinge edgeshall be reinforced full height by a 12gauge continuous one piece channel,formed and tapped for hinges. Top andbottom of the door shall be closed with16 gauge channels.
