USA Software, Inc CAD Interface ApproachIn a standard CAD-to-MDS 2000 mobile communications scenario, the call-taker ordispatcher will be able to complete the normal CAD screen (which may be partiallycompleted by a 911/CAD interface), and the CAD System automatically delivers acopy of the completed CAD screen to the mobile computer of the unit(s) assigned tothat call.As the CAD screen is displayed on the mobile computer, a series of function buttonswill be activated on the mobile computer. To acknowledge the call, for example, the, which will send a status message to the MDS 2000 serverofficer may pressindicating that the unit is Enroute. This keystroke is passed to the CAD system toallow the unit's status to be updated. Similarly, may mean arrived on scene,

may mean left original location, may arrived second location, and soforth. The interactive mobile computer status change feature will only apply to themost recent CAD screen sent to that mobile unit. The CAD information alsoincludes recent history at a location.Narrative information can be passed from the dispatcher to the mobile unit ORfrom the mobile unit to dispatch. Great for updating subject information, etc.Officers/Deputies can also assign themselves to pending calls by using the ASSIGNME button:

The MDS 2000 system is also tightly integrated with the USA Software RMS system.Information from the RMS can be accessed directly from the mobile unit:

At call completion, the mobile unit can then be used to complete incident or accidentreports using USA Software’s eForms Field Reporting Module. The MDS 2000interface to CAD provides the eForm with the “Header” information that forms thebase of the report thus eliminating the re-keying of the CAD data into the form. This also greatly reduces data entry errors (such as the case number).

Mapping IntegrationsBuilt in mapping software included in standard software package with the ability tosupport GPS and AVL
