Introducing the Garadorup & over garage doorGarador’s up & over garage doors are available in anextensive range of sizes that includes singles, doublesand made-to-measure. You can choose from two typesof lifting gear to operate your garage door: canopy orretractable. Please see overleaf for further details.Three different materials are on offer to suit your garage’sindividual requirements, these are: steel, timber or grp(glass reinforced polyester). Each material comes in avariety of designs and colours to suit.5
GARADOR Canopy lifting gearCanopy lifting gearAn up & over garage door with canopy lifting gear requires less space for opening,as there are no tracks running back into the garage. GARADOR Canopy lifting gearTwo-point locking for securityCanopy doors utilise a two-point tubularlatch system of locking at the top of thedoor to prevent unauthorised entry. Therobust door latch system makes it easy toclose but very difficult to force the dooropen.1Zinc coated torsion springThe energy stored in the torsion springgenerates torque and assists with theraising and lowering of the door,delivering a gentle and controlled doormotion. A zinc coating provides aprotective barrier against corrosivesubstances.2Durable steel cables & cast alloy drumThe cable drum is connected to thetorsion spring, round which the steelcables run to operate the door. Thequality steel cables and cast alloy cabledrum help to ensure a long service lifefor the door.3Guide rail & anti-drop safetymechanismA small 45 mm black wheel runs inside aguide rail at either side of the door. Thisensures the door runs in a fixed linearmotion and prevents it from de-railing.The anti-drop device stops the door fromcrashing down in the event of a spring orcable failure.47

It is available in single or double door sizesup to 5000 mm wide. GARADOR Retractable lifting gearTwo-point locking for securityRetractable doors have a simple two-pointlocking system situated at the bottomcorners of the door. The unique rotarylatch locks are robust, long-lasting andsecurely engaged by the locking rodswhen the door is closed.1Pivot arms and triple spring systemSolid steel pivot arms and tension springshelp to lift and lower the door gently. Ifone of the springs breaks after manyyears of use, the triple spring systemensures that the other intact springs willcontinue to support the door. Black plasticcovers for the pivot arms provide trapprotection to reduce the risk of injuries.2Guide rails and roller assemblyA small 45mm plastic wheel sits insidethe guide rails which run back into thegarage. These ensure the door runs in aconsistent, linear motion and preventsthe door from de-railing.3Secure parking positionA small indent in the guide rail at theback of the door provides a secureparking position. This prevents the doorfrom rolling forward and closing in anuncontrolled manner.49

Strength, stability and along-lasting designAll Garador up & over garage doors, are constructedaround a galvanised steel box-section chassis, providinga boundary structure around which to build the door.The steel, grp or timber material is then infilled to createthe door design.Twin back braces for rigid panelOur garage doors are manufactured with two galvanisedsteel braces which are spot welded to the inside,reinforcing the door leaf and ensuring a rigid door panel.In addition, the door panel is structurally stronger andtherefore more secure.Strong box section chassisManufactured from high-grade galvanised steel, theclosed “box section” chassis helps to ensure a strong andstable door construction.The chassis is held together bysteel “L shaped“ corner blocks using a button and lockprocess, meaning there is no need for welding or rivets.11
A choice of three materialsWe only use the very best materials to manufacture our up & overgarage doors. Choose from a selection of over 60 door designs ineither steel, grp or timber.12
SteelWe use high-grade galvanised steel tomanufacture our steel up & overgarage door range. A zinc coatingprotects the base metal, acting as abarrier to corrosive elements. Agenerous layer of powder-coat paint isapplied to all surfaces of the doorpanel, using a state-of-the-art coloursystem, to safeguard againstweathering and corrosive substances inthe general environment. The materialis cost effective and long-lasting.Glass reinforced polyester (grp)The Garador grp garage door range ismade using glass reinforced polyester,which sits in a steel box-sectionchassis. The polyester material isreinforced with very fine strands ofglass and placed into a mould to createeither a smooth gloss white surface orwoodgrain surface texture. Thematerial is lightweight, durable andeasy to maintain.TimberOur Cedar range is made from solidred cedar, whilst the Elizabethan rangeis made from solid red cedar with aplywood backing. Cedar wood hasnatural self-protective qualities thatprevent warping, cracking or rotting.Okoume marine grade plywood is usedfor Elizabethan range. Both materialsare highly durable and if properlymaintained, could last a lifetime.13

They are ideal for garages where frequent accessis required to store and retrieve larger items such asbicycles or garden tools. A lever handle is used tooperate the door and both door leafs open outwardsproviding clear and unrestricted space within the garage.Choose from an extensive selection of standard andmade-to-measure door sizes.
