The school’s 55-acre campus is in close proximity to several institutions of higherlearning, including the University of California, Irvine, Concordia University and Chapman University. Inaddition, University High School is the home of the Orange County Deaf and Hard of Hearing programwith an enrollment of 75 students who fully participate in the school’s academic, athletic and activitiesprograms. Ninety-nine percent of University High School graduates enter post-secondary educationalprograms.University High School students have consistentlybeen successful in national and state academicawards programs such as the National MeritScholarship Program, the Siemens FoundationAwards Program and the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship Program. Academic Honesty and Integrity:All students are expected to demonstrate honesty and integrity while in attendance at University High School and each student signs an Academic Honesty Contract. Students are expected to do their own work. This includes test taking, homework,class assignments and the creation of original essays, compositions, term papers and scientific research.University High School: CurriculumUniversity High School offers a rigorous academic curriculum. The majority of classes are offered at the College Preparatorylevel. Students who meet course prerequisites may enroll in Honors and Advanced Placement courses. There are six classperiods during the regular school day. An optional seventh class is available for students who participate in Drama, Music,Leadership, Journalism, and Yearbook/Photojournalism.
