They also offerprograms linked to specific industries and careers.At Moreno Valley, health, human and public service programs are emphasized,and you will find physician assistant, medical assisting, dental hygiene, dentaltechnology, paramedic and emergency services programs. At Norco, programsare technology-oriented, offering choices from engineering and manufacturingtechnology to logistics and computer gaming. And at Riverside, the focus is onoccupational and applied technology, with programs like nursing, computerapplications, graphic arts, telecommunications and other media.At each of the campuses and at our newest education center in Rubidoux,you will find classes offered on 8- and 16-week schedules—in the daytimeand evening, on weekends and online. In that sense, we’re here when youneed us. Student services are comprehensive, too. Step4 – Test your skills through theAssessment Test Preparing for AssessmentIf you are a first time student you need toparticipate in the Assessment process if you:To take an assessment a student must: Plan to enroll in 6 or more units per semester Plan to earn an Associate degree Plan to earn a certificate Plan to transfer Are undecided about your educational goal1. Complete an Application for Admission. If you apply online atwww.rcc.edu, you will be cleared to take RCC’s placement test24 hours after your application is submitted (not includingweekends or holidays.)2. Take RCC’s Placement Test.In addition, all students who need to validate a prerequisite for math, reading,English or ESL classes need to participate in the Assessment process. Bring a current picture ID to the test. Students will NOT bepermitted to take the placement test without a current picture ID. The placement test is not timed, but typically takes 1½ to 2 hoursto complete. Anyone who arrives before the closing time has approximately1½ hours of lab time to complete as much of the test as possible. To ensure a distraction free environment, children are notpermitted in the Assessment Center. Food or drink is not permitted in the Assessment Center.During most months of the year, no appointment is necessary to take theplacement test. However seating is limited to available computers androom capacity. You can find RCC Mail on thehomepage at www.rcc.edu. There’s a tutorial online to assist you, if needed. If you do not know your RCC email address, go to the WebAdvisor menu at www.rcc.edu. Click on What's My Email Address? When you log in for the first time with your RCC Mail ID your temporary password will be your 6 digit birthdate.You will be prompted to change your password and set up your account.RCC Mail will provide registration appointments, payment deadlines, education record changes, class cancellations, new offerings, faculty correspondence , waitlistoptions and other features. While it’s important for you to open RCC Mail often to read important messages, you must do so at least once every 180 days or allmessages will be deleted.
