The SikaProof system consists of twoalternative methods of installation:SikaProof A pre-applied system is installed inthe formwork before the reinforcement is placedand concrete is cast. THE FULLY BONDED TECHNOLOGYFULLY BONDED – WHAT DOES IT MEAN .The fully bonded technology was developed from Sika’s elastic sealant and adhesive bonding expertise. The innovationprovides a durable and reliable bond between the membranesystem and the structural concrete. This property provides highsafety and longterm watertight solution, especially in the eventof damage to the membrane.The key feature of “the fully bonded technology” is the samein both SikaProof A and P and this bond is not only dependent on the membrane system. The appropriate concretequality ensures the success of the fully bonded system. Forthis purpose concrete mix design and the workmanship haveto be planned and executed precisely. . AND HOW DOES IT WORK?The pre-applied SikaProof A systemis installed in the formwork before thereinforcement is placed, and the structural concrete is cast. The fresh concreteis cast onto the membrane and coversthe surface of the hybrid bonding layerto form the dual bond.The post-applied SikaProof P-12system is installed by first peeling therelease liner and sticking the membranedirectly onto the hardened concrete surface. The full-surface bond to concreteis enhanced by the system primer, whichensures a durable adhesion to the concrete structure.The post-applied SikaProof P-1201system, the membrane is installedinto the freshly applied adhesive ontothe prepared hardened concrete surface. There is no primer required, thefull-surface and highly durable bondto concrete structure is created by theadhesive.THE SYSTEM BUILD-UP:SikaProof A consists of a flexiblepolyolefin (FPO) membrane (1) with athickness of 1.2 mm containing a unique,FPO based, hybrid bonding layer (2)to give total membrane thickness of1.75 mm. The structural concrete (3),which is determined according to theSika Concrete Mix Design, creates theideal dual bond.THE SYSTEM BUILD-UP:SikaProof P-12 is based on a flexibleFPO membrane (1) based on Sikaplan technology available in thickness0.6 mm.
