We are part of theGreat Commissionmeeting. Jesus said that Hiscommission to makedisciples is in effect evento the end of the age.(Matthew 28:20) The end of the agehasn’t come yet. Therefore, the Lord’sinstructions are for all ofus.Francine Williams

We were saved to “share” not to be “selfish”. The Gospel was designed to be sharedwith everyone.-2 Peter 3:9 “9 The Lord is not slowabout His promise, as some countslowness, but is patient toward you,not willing for any to perish, but for allto come to repentance.” We are called to baptize (a symbol ofconversion & a new spiritual birth) inthe name of the Holy Trinity. We are called to teach sounddoctrine and make disciples.Minister Francine Williams

This is a taskand a call thatwe do not carryout alone. Evangelism is a lifestyleto be passed down fromgeneration to generation.(Matthew 28:20b).Minister Francine Williams

They must be born againEvangelism is done with theintention of bringing the hearer tofaith in Jesus Christ for salvation. They must be born again beforethey can be disciples. The first people that should bebaptized and made disciples inyour ecosystem is your family.Minister Francine Williams

Why is EvangelismImportant? It is the foundation of advancing God’s Kingdom.Minister Francine Williams

Six reasonsto evangelizeand share“The GoodNews” Because God has commanded us to do so(Acts 1:8) It demonstrates our love for God (John 14:15) Because all are lost without Christ (Romans3:10, 23) Because this is God’s chosen method: He coulduse angels, but He only uses redeemed sinnersto tell lost sinners about Christ (Romans 10:1417; Timothy 1:15) Because God desires to save all people (asmentioned earlier) Because faith grows best when it is properlypassed down from generation to generation.Minister Francine Williams

Methods ofEvangelismMinister Francine Williams

Lifestyle Evangelism-Methods ofEvangelismFocuses on building relationships with oneperson at a time. Community EvangelismDoor-to-door sharing of the gospel, streetpreaching, passing out fliers, church-heldcommunity events. Global EvangelismInternet/digital ministry, global missionaries, global outreach.Minister Francine Williams

Acts 1:8Where shouldwe evangelize? But you will receive power when the Holy Spirithas come upon you; and you shall be Mywitnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, andSamaria, and as far as the remotest part of theearth. We are to evangelize locally (Jerusalem), inplaces that are likely to be non-receptive(Judea), in places where we’re viewed asenemies or strongly disliked (Samaria), and tothe uttermost parts of the earth (globally).Minister Francine Williams

Testimony Gospel MethodYour personal testimony is not the gospel; however, you canincorporate the gospel as you give your testimony.EvangelisticMethods Read Acts 26:1-23 Then, use these 3 elements to create your testimony:1. Talk about what your life was like before you receivedChrist (Acts 26:4-11)2. Describe how God spoke to your heart and opened youreyes to spiritual truth. Include the basic facts of the gospeland your response of faith. (Acts 26:12-18)3. Finally, share how your life has changed since receiving theforgiveness available in Christ. (Acts 26:19-23)Minister Francine Williams

What if theyaren’treceptive? Remember, you do not have the power toconvert anyone. Your job is to plant theseed and allow the Holy Spirit to waterthe seed through conversion. Our job is toshare the good news and let God work ontheir hearts. We plant the seed by being sure andknowledgeable of our beliefs.-1Peter 3:15, “But sanctify the Lord God inyour hearts, and always be ready to give adefense to everyone who asks you areason for the hope that is in you, withmeekness and fear.” They may not accept Jesus Christ intotheir hearts that day, but you never knowhow that seed you planted could bloomlater. Remember it is about obedience.Minister Francine Williams

Romans 10:9- If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lordand believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, youwill be saved.ImportantScriptures toremember John 3:16- For God so loved the world that He gave His onlybegotten son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish buthave everlasting life. Romans 3:23- For all have sinned and come short of the glory ofGod. John 14:6- Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.No one comes to the Father except through me. 1 John 1:19- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgiveus our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.Minister Francine Williams

Don’t go alone.Enlist another believer to go with you. Do not separate too far from one another. Pray before you go.Pray alone and with your evangelism partner. This will help to share the burden of thebattle.Safetyprecautions Study the Word of God.You must come equipped with the knowledge of the Word of God. You cannot win aspiritual battle without consistently hearing and reading the Word of God. Remember,Satan tried to use the Word of God against Christ. Memorize and jot down thescriptures that can be used during evangelism. Examine your heartBe sure that you are living the Word before you try to give the Word to someone else.Don’t be a hypocrite. Always remain calmYou may encounter people who want to provoke you. Remember why you are there.PreparationforEvangelism Go in the strength of the LordRemember that God is with you. He will place the words in your mouth to speak, andHe will strengthen you along the way.Minister Francine Williams

Pick an appropriate location and time.-High traffic areas (downtown business districts, farmer’s markets, and college campuses). Have an evangelism group or an evangelismpartner. Use good judgment. Be sure to follow solicitation laws and abide by therules of business/property owners.Ready? Prepare your message. Have your scriptures highlighted, be prepared togive your testimony using the three rules mentionedearlier. Connect with people.-Ask them if they would like prayer, lead aconversation about the sports team memorabilia theyare wearing, etc. Have your probing questions ready.-If you were to die today, where would your soul spendeternity? Why?, Do you feel fulfilled in life? Etc.Minister Francine Williams

Every opportunity that you get. When shouldyouevangelize?Christ tells us to “Go” ye therefore andteach all nations.Street evangelism may be good duringSpring and Summer; however, you canuse any of the other methods yearround.Minister Francine Williams

Missionary work Involves sending individuals and groups of Christian believers, called missionaries, to different nations of the world tocomplete simple tasks and still make an impact that lasts, allwhile bringing the gospel simultaneously. Evangelism work –The spreading of the gospel by public preaching or personalwitness.A Missionary crosses cultures and shares the gospel indifferent countries. They are sent in a specific area topromote their faith or to perform ministries of service. Thiscould include education, social justice, health care, economicdevelopment, etc.An Evangelist teaches and spreads the gospel. All Christiansshould be evangelists.Minister Francine Williams

Call past visitors-Contact those who have visited your church in the past two years.-This is an opportunity to share Jesus with them after you havechecked on them and prayed with them.Evangelizingduring aPandemic Invite someone to stream church service with you.-This can be done via zoom, face time, etc. Check on the needs of those in your community.-People want to know that you care. It is hard for them to listen toyou share the gospel when their child is sick, or their utilities havebeen disconnected because someone has lost their job. Peopleare more inclined to listen to a person they feel cares for them andtheir basic needs. Share your testimony on social media. Place gospel tracts in the bags and boxes that you hand outwhen helping the less fortunate. Add a prayer line to your live streaming church services.Minister Francine Williams

Make sure you are a part of the fewThe Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few Luke 10:2“Then He said to them, The harvest truly is great, butthe laborers are few; therefore, pray the Lord of theharvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Point people towards hope.Minister Francine Williams
