Because we are the younger professionals in the chamber, I thought it would makesense to work with our high school students who are the next generation of professionals and leaders. So I reached out to the Crestview High School administration and thenmet with the teachers of the Leadership and Bulldog classes to develop a guest speakerprogram. It is going very well so far, but we can definitely use more volunteers to speakabout their experiences and offer some knowledge that a student might not normallyhear about in high school. If you are a young professional Crestview Chamber memberwho would like to get involved, email me at Jamil@MyFinancialLeaders.com. There areless than 4 months remaining in the school year, so we need to get our guest speakersscheduled as soon as possible.Christie: Is there anything else you want our Chamber members to know aboutPILOT?Jamil: Besides networking and having leaders of our community speak to us, thePILOT Committee is a great place to meet new friends. We also have a few social mixers or parties each year. I will also clarify for any new chamber members that PILOTis an acronym for Professional and Inspired Leaders of Tomorrow. Just to be sure thatwe are not mistaken for the Airport Committee, which is another one of our fantasticchamber committees. As you can see this is a great group and a great opportunity for a lot of our newand younger members! For more information about PILOT, you can reach out toJamil, any of the Chamber staff, or myself. You can also check them out at their nextluncheon on the third Thursday of every month. Be sure to check your Chamberemails to find out where the next one will be located. Hope to see you soon!Christie CadenheadCommunity BankAssistant Vice President, Loan OfficerNMLS # 1413107(850) SS SPOTLIGHT:North Okaloosa Medical CenterAbout UsNorth Okaloosa Medical Center is your community healthcare provider; a 110-bedfacility with complete inpatient and outpatient care. We believe in the power of peopleto create great care. We’re more than 600 healthcare professionals strong. We work hardevery day to be a place of healing, caring and connection for patients and families inthe community we call home.Heart and Vascular Care at NOMCAs an accredited Chest Pain Center, North Okaloosa Medical Center has demonstrated its expertise and commitment to quality patient care by meeting or exceedinga wide set of stringent criteria and undergoing an onsite review by a team of Societyfor Cardiovascular Patient Care accreditation review specialists. For patients who arrivethrough the ER, physicians and registered nurses certified in Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport are prepared to treat your symptoms, 24/7. For inpatients, both the IntensiveCare Unit and the Progressive Care Unit are equipped to handle cardiac events, with acentral monitoring system that provides constant watch over your heart rhythm.Dedication to Patient Safety & Quality CareLast year North Okaloosa Medical Center pharmacists performed 1059 clinical interventions. What are interventions you ask? Interventions are the pharmacist’s way of “getting involved” in the care of our patients. Pharmacists work as partners with physicians, nursing, and other clinical staff to augment patient care by doing things like: Recommending drug therapy changes based on the patient’s condition & metabolic function. Optimizing antibiotic therapy thru pharmacokinetic dosing strategies andensuring that patients are on the “right” antibiotic.Alerting prescribers when a potential allergy or drug interaction may occur.Needless to say, we are very proud of our pharmacy staff and there are many otherthings that they do but they represent only a small portion of the many “behind thescenes” people whose efforts ensure that our patients have the best experience possible.Addition of New Health Care ProfessionalsOur hospital has an outstanding collection of professionals as members of the medical staff and this group continues to grow as our community population and respectiveneeds expand. We have recently added three new physicians; orthopedic surgeon Dr.David Lalli, pulmonologist Dr. Asser El-Atfy, urologist Dr. Andrew Horowitz andcoming soon family practice physician Michelle VandenBosch. For more information about our expanding hospital services and what’s happeningat NOMC, visit www.northokaloosa.com or call us at (850) 689-8100.North Okaloosa Medical Center is directly or indirectly owned by a partnership thatproudly includes physician owners, including certain members of our medical staff.
