ACADEMIC PROGRAMS/REQUIREMENTS FORSPRING 2021/FALL 2021FRESHMAN/TRANSFERSGeneral Requirements for AdmissionNassau Community College has an open admission policyguaranteeing admission to students who meet the criteria outlinedbelow. Applicants must meet one of the following:1. Possess an official high school transcript with graduation date or highschool equivalent diploma (TASC/GED).2. Meet the Home-Schooled Student requirements.3. Enroll in the New York State 24 College Credit TASC Program(formerly known as GED).Prospective students are not required by the college to submitstandardized test scores such as SAT or ACT. However, submission ofthese test scores may waive the student from some or all parts of theplacement tests.Placement exams in the areas of English, Reading and Mathematics maybe required as part of the admission process. Students whose placementtest scores indicate placement in developmental courses must enroll inthese courses in their first semester of attendance at NCC.Programs in health related areas and Mortuary Science may requirea background check and drug screening prior to being eligible for aclinical rotation.
