The 208 NPA serves the entire state of Idaho. The new 986 NPA willserve the same geographic area currently served by the existing 208 NPA. After the permissiveperiod ends, all calls must be dialed using 10-digits.When preparing for overlay area code relief, carriers are strongly encouraged to prepare theirswitches to begin sending 10 digits prior to the mandatory 10-digit dialing conversion date forcustomers.

Arecorded announcement will indicate that the test call has been successfully completed.General InformationThe information in this planning letter reflects detailed information about NPA relief activities.The information has been derived from commission orders and from industry implementationdecisions.
