The systems and applications managed by NITC arenational in scope, mission critical, and essential for the operations of theUnited States government. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): The NITC Infrastructure as aService provides standard virtualized operating platforms to securelyhost customer applications. NITC uses server virtualizationtechnologies, strict standards, and economies of scale to enable rapiddelivery of cost-effective, fully managed operating platforms withexpanded inheritable security controls. NITC also offers three tiers ofIaaS storage that are available to customers on demand. Platform as a Service (PaaS): The NITC Platform as a Service buildson the IaaS to provide customers with environments where they candevelop, test and deploy customer-created or acquired applications.Currently, NITC offers various PaaS services including database, webportal, web server etc. The PaaS services include software licensemanagement and essential professional services for the productsincluded in the service. Managed Hosting: For extremely large or unique applications thatrequire dedicated hardware, NITC will manage customer providedservers up through the operating system (OS) in a secure operatingenvironment including systems installation, engineering, administration,and support. Professional Services: NITC can provide the professional servicesrequired for integrating and administering enterprise-class businessapplications and databases, project management, and planning fortechnology advancements and disaster recovery.Catalog Version 3.0NITC has provided services as afederated data center since 1973 and hasperformed data center migrations sincethe 1980s.
