OVERVIEWAs part of your job at Keysight Technologies (Keysight) you may be asked to travel fromtime to time. Different countries require different levels of security preparedness and youshould use practical common sense in deciding which actions to take during the course ofyour trip.Keysight Technologies provides its employees with a variety of resources in order to keepyou safe during the course of a business trip. Nevertheless, Global Security cannot forceyou to utilize the resources available. As an employee you must take some responsibilityfor yourself. INTRODUCTIONEach year, hundreds of thousands of people travel for both business and pleasure. For most people, travel isa positive, rewarding experience. Nevertheless, there are some dangers in the world and you should beproperly prepared to deal with a variety of situations.Whether you are a first-time traveler or an experienced globetrotter, you must assume responsibilityfor your personal safety and security.The following guidelines were developed to help you avoid pitfalls while traveling overseas. This booklet isnot meant to be a substitute for a detailed Security Travel Briefing prior to visiting high-risk foreign countries.PRIOR TO DEPARTUREPreparations before you depart will depend upon the length and purpose of your trip as well as thedestination. Before leaving, confirm lodging and travel reservations and obtain traveler’s checks. Takepertinent information regarding health insurance coverage, which might be useful in an emergency. Inaddition, you will need certain official documents and in some areas, vaccination information. The checklistthat follows will help you prepare.PRE-TRIP CHECKLIST Arrange travel through an Keysight authorized travel agent and always keep your itinerary currentDetermine all passport and visa requirements and maintain copies of eachBe aware of any restrictions or limitations on items that you may bring with you on your tripObtain safety and security information on your destinationKnow your ground transportation optionsDetermine health issues and immunization requirementsAddress currency issuesPrepare a list of emergency contactsReview Country Intelligence information before you depart, and understand the risksARRANGING TRAVELTravelers should always use a Keysight-authorized travel agent when arranging a trip so you can be locatedrapidly in case of an emergency. Using a Keysight-authorized travel agent is even more essential whenplanning an international trip. Your Keysight-authorized travel agent has been provided with important safetyand security information from Global Security. This information will assist the travel agent in arranging yourtravel while keeping your safety and security in mind.Entry RequirementsYou should determine all passport and visa requirements for your destination prior to departure. Passportand visa requirements can vary considerably by country. Some countries may not require a visa, dependingon your nationality. Do not wait until the last minute to file for a visa, as processing can take some time. It isrecommended that your passport have at least six months of validity remaining; some countries may notaccept your passport if it expires less than six months prior to your scheduled return. Not obtaining a visa or having an improper visa can result in immediate deportation or arrest. RestrictionsSome countries may have restrictions on items that visitors may bring with them upon arrival. Depending onthe country, some books, magazines, tapes, videos, or religious items may be subject to confiscation ifcustoms believe the items contain pornographic, religious, or politically sensitive information. Other countriesmay have restrictions on pork-related products and alcohol. Certain over-the-counter medications in yourhome country may be banned in other countries. In general, it is best to obtain a list of restricted items priorto departure to avoid problems with authorities. Information regarding restrictions can also be obtained from the embassy or a consulaterepresenting your destination in your home country.SAFETY AND SECURITY INFORMATIONIt is important for you to obtain safety and security information on your destination. Keysight Securityprovides the International SOS online intelligence and security database for all employees. It coversinformation on more than 75 countries and 110 cities around the world. The system provides general detailson a variety of destinations, as well as specific travel, health and safety, and security information. TheInternational SOS online database can be found on the Global SRC website:http://wps.service.agilent.com/global security/src/src.htmAs a Keysight employee, it is your responsibility to check the Keysight International SOS system prior to yourdeparture. The system may convey specific instructions or advice for Keysight employees and it is importantthat you review the information.If you have any questions regarding the information contained in the system or have concerns about aparticular destination, you are encouraged to contact Global Security Response Center at least 48 hoursprior to departure. Also, contact the Global SRC prior to any travel to a "Restricted" countrydestination. Travel AlertsKeysight uses a warning system to convey concern about the safety and security risks in some countries onthe International SOS webpage. For countries with higher-than-normal risks, Global Security will issue aTravel Alert. It is important to remember that local country conditions may change with little notice.While the information in this briefing is current as of your booking, you are encouraged to review updated informationfrom the India Country Guide and the India Security Guide prior to your actual departure, as well as duringyour trip if you will be staying longer than a few days.Prior to Departure: Review information concerning your destination by accessing the Keysight portal. You can also accessthe portal by going to www.internationalsos.com and enter the Keysight member number,11BYCA090173 in the box on the right hand side of the page.Several governments also provide travel security information online. Several airports have indicated that they have begun to enforce health-related screening measures due to thecontinued spread of the H1N1 virus. As a result of these increased screening measures, travelers flying to or fromcountries affected by the virus outbreak may expect any or all of the following: Travelers suspected of being infected may be required to undergo a thorough medical check-up.Travelers may be required to complete health questionnaires as part of check-in and disembarkationprocedures.Arriving aircraft may be subject to temporary quarantines as passengers undergo rapid medical checks,including individual temperature readings.
