Topics include bedsidecare,obtainingvitalsignsandmeasurements, collecting blood samples,andrecordingelectrocardiograms.Emergency Medical TechnicianEMT’s work under the direct supervisionofEmergencyMedicalServices(Paramedics). Classroom and practicalinstruction prepare the students to handlea wide range of tasks related to emergencycare. Clinical Medical AssistantPhysical Therapy AideThis course prepares students to be entrylevel aides in a variety of rehabilitativesettings such as physical and occupationaltherapy clinics, home healthcare agencies,hospitals, nursing homes and assistedliving facilities. EKG TechnicianThe EKG course is perfect for the studentlooking to enter the healthcare field as wellas the healthcare professional looking toacquire additional skills. Classroom andpractical instruction will prepare studentsto obtain electrocardiograms in varioushealthcare settings. Instruction includespatient preparation, use and maintenanceof the electrocardiograph and methodsfor obtaining an electrocardiogram.Students will also learn how to recognizeabnormalities on the electrocardiogram.Dialysis TechnicianHours: 120 (80 Classroom & 40 Externship)Tuition: 2,700Mental Health TechnicianMental Health Technicians work withpeople who are mentally ill, recoveringfrom drug or alcohol addiction, havemental disorders or are in crisis of othersorts. Techs work in a variety of venuesthat can include long-term care facilities,psychiatric hospitals, addiction treatmentfacilities, standard hospitals, or nursinghomes.
