Enrollment/Registration: There is a non-refundable 6 processing fee per student each semester.Assume you are enrolled in the class for which you areregistered. No registration confirmation will be mailedto you. In the event of a filled class or cancellation, wewill make every attempt to notify you by phone, mail ore-mail. We cancel classes with low enrollment shortlybefore they start. Please register early to make sure thecourse you want has adequate enrollment to be offered.Online Registration at: www.fpsct.org/fce24 hours a day, 7 days a week.Senior Citizens: The Farmington Board ofEducation waives the tuition fee for Farmington seniorcitizens (age 65 ) for one course per term unlessotherwise noted. Senior citizens are responsible forprocessing fee, one session courses, and supply fees.Seniors must identify themselves at time of registrationto receive the senior rate.Waiting Lists: Will be taken on classes/trips withenrollment limits. We will notify you when there areopenings.Refunds: Will be given ONLY if a course is cancelled,or if there is an FCE initiated schedule change, whichrenders you unable to attend the program. Any refundswill be processed by check. ABE – ESL – GEDSEPTEMBER – DECEMBER 2011The Farmington Board of Education provides classes in Adult Basic Education (ABE), Citizenship, General EducationalDevelopment (GED), and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). These programs are FREE to residentsof Farmington, Unionville, Avon, Canton, Collinsville, Burlington, and Harwinton. Registration is required for all classes.The CT State DiplomaGeneral EducationDevelopment (GED)This 12 week course prepares students topass the five(5) part exam to earn a Stateof Connecticut diploma. Students receivenecessary instruction in each subject areaand can take practice GED tests with theirinstructor. In order to be in this program,students must be sixteen(17) years of ageor older, and have not yet earned theirhigh school diploma. Students must beofficially withdrawn from day school. Toregister for the GED exam, students mustbe seventeen(17) years of age or older andofficially withdrawn from schoolfor six(6)months or their 9th grade class must havegraduated. The GED exam is givenmonthly throughout various locations inthe state.
