MEET SOME OF THE MEMBERS OF OUR TEAMDURING NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY MONTH,WE CELEBRATED OUR AMAZING OTS!RAYMOND MENDOZA-BUENOOCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST / REHAB DIRECTORBorn in the Dominican Republic, Raymond came to the US in 2005. Helearned about occupational therapy while working as a rehab aide. At thattime, he was enrolled in the nursing program at Hudson County CommunityCollege (HCCC). As a rehab aide, he had several opportunities to witnessa dependent patient become independent with all activities of daily livingthrough the process of occupational therapy. At that moment, he realizedthat he wanted to be part of the rehab process. He graduated from EastwickCollege with an AAS in OTA, has been an OT for a few years, and loves whathe does.Happy Occupational Therapy Month, Raymond! We are so proud to have youon our team!KATE ALONZOOCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTKate grew up in a household of healthcare professionals - registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, dentists, and molecular scientists - soshe knew that she was meant to be a healthcare professional as well. Unsurewhere in the healthcare field to land, she jumped from nursing to speech-language pathology and more during her first year of college. Since her aunt isa physical therapist, she let her observe at one of the facilities she used towork in. One of the occupational therapists she was shadowing introduced herto OT: where science and creativity come together to help someone regainsomething they lost, which has dramatically affected their lives. After observing at the rehabilitation center, she realized that this was her calling. Shegraduated from Eastwick College with an Associate’s in OTA and has workedas an OT for almost a year and a half. Happy Occupational Therapy Month,Kate! We are thrilled to have you on our team!PARAMOUNT CARE CENTERS 211 BOULEVARD OF THE AMERICAS, SUITE 209, LAKEWOOD NJ 08701
