The mandate creates an industry standard to prevent errors, logbook tampering, and driver harassment. Paper logs must be replaced with a compliant device thatconnects directly to the engine ECM. New device requirements may require existing “e-logging”devices to be updated or replaced (AOBRDs, EOBRs, e-Logs). Drivers who are exempt from Hours of Service/Record of DutyStatus will not be required to have an ELD.www.omnitracs.com

U.S. Mandate Duty Statuses include: On-Duty, Off-Duty,Driving, and Sleeper Berth. Additionally, fleets can give drivers the optionof logging time as Yard Move or Personal Conveyance as driving events.Looking for more details about ELDs?Get the full list of changes with thishandy AOBRD vs. ELD Cheat Sheet.Click to download.www.omnitracs.com
