This innovative option allows you to getpractical hands-on experience in one of more than6o school districts in Connecticut and the adjacentdistricts in New York while offsetting the cost oftuition by thousands of dollars. In just 15 months,you can earn your degree and certification with thedistricts paying for tuition while you attend eveningclasses and intern during the day.The Soares Institute of Neuroscience and Education(SINE) is a digital and print resource center housedwithin the School of Education. It features originalresearch instruments, open-access journals andpublications, thousands of searchable databases andaccess to research studies in the field of neuroscience.SINE is involved in innovative research that willenable researchers and educators to map physically thebrain’s neural activities. The Institute provides a spiralcurriculum building from the basics of neurosciencein process, content and interconnection of learning.FIELDWORK AND STUDENT TEACHINGStudents of the School of Education have two optionsfor completing fieldwork prior to residency (student)teaching. Classes areheld in the evening and are designed for workingprofessionals.
