Plans for ramps tobe installed in 2020 are in the works.Wifi Hotspot at King PoolThis was already in the works with another agency, so theproject was discontinued.Prioritize a list of needs and wants for area parksCompleted, and now used to set annual goals for the Parksand Recreation committee.Lake Pittsfield Disc Golf CourseApplied for and received a grant from the Pike CountyAccommodation Tax Committee for a tournament-ready 18hole disc golf course on the city lake. Volunteers cleared trees,brush and obstacles and a professional architect designed thecourse. It was completed in August, 2019 and the Parks andRecreation committee hosted a ribbon cutting andtournament in October. An Accommodation Taxgrant was awarded to Picture Pittsfield and the design is in theapproval process. The initial design plan is for Lincoln'sprivate secretaries, Nicolay and Hay, to be featured.Starting in February 2019, there have been nine cash mobevents hosted by the Tourism and Life committee, featuring 15local businesses. May work in partnership with the EconomicDevelopment committee to create a relaxing evening on thecourthouse square with food, activities and entertainment.Become a non-profit organizationPaperwork was filed and approved and PicturePittsfield is now a 501(c)3In the works; scheduled to be completed in time for SpringPickin' Days on the Square in May.Still in the research stages; hope to have an event by Summer2021Develop a Welcome Packet for new residentsThe Economic Development Committee created an onlinePDF with information about Pittsfield new and currentresidents could find helpful. With the right funding and location, abusiness incubator might once again make sense to try as wetry to grow and diversify our local economy.Completed.Update the business directory and create categoriesReestablish the Pike County Young Professionals (YPike) Work in progress, with collaboration with the Pike CountyChamber of Commerce; hope to move forward in 2020 withgroupthe installation of the new Chamber Director.Create and grow Pittsfield festivalsCourthouse Glow eventsRaise fundsAfter the annual Pike County Fall Color Drive disbanded,Picture Pittsfield began managing Pittsfield's piece of thecounty-wide event: hosting vendors on the courthouse lawn asFall Pickin' Days on the Square, traditionally held the thirdweekend of October. In 2019 two new festivals were added:Spring Pickin' Days on the Square in May and the Deer SantaFestival the Sunday after Thanksgiving.Combining local history with science, Picture, and inpartnership with the local Masons, PP hosts an event the dayof the Spring and Fall equinoxes, where the sunset makes thecourthouse windows "glow." Events are scheduled for 2020.With the help of local businesses and the community, PicturePittsfield has raised funds with its Queen of Hearts raffle atLindsay's Tavern, cookouts at County Market, fried chickenlunch and wreath auction hosted by Courtyard Cafe', t-shirtsales, Deer Santa Festival yard deer sales and more. Localbusinesses are also sponsoring holes and kiosks at the disc golfcourse. All funds are used to complete community projects or7promote Pittsfield. Fundraising efforts are ongoing.
