Hinds Community College has an openAdoor admission policy that offers all students general admission to the college.Find Your Admission TypeHigh School GraduateDual Enrollment S ubmit your final official high school transcript,showing your graduation date. Submit official ACT scores or take the Accuplacerat any Hinds campus. S ubmit your official high school transcript, showing thecompletion of at least ten core units. Paying for CollegeA college education doesn’t have to break the bank. Financial aid may be available to help you pay for college. ScholarshipsFoundation ScholarshipACT Freshman ScholarshipAwarded on a competitive basis to students who demonstrateacademic excellence, a desire for achievement, involvementin extracurricular activities, and/or financial need. Studentswishing to be considered on the basis of financial need shouldsubmit a FAFSA to Hinds Community College by February 15.Award: total award amount listed is divided equally over fourconsecutive semesters (excluding summer terms)Award: amounts vary, awarded every fall semesterDeadline: first day of classes of the first freshman semester(excluding summer terms)Deadline: February 15How to Apply: S ubmit an application for admission. Career & Technical Competition WinnerAwarded on a competitive basis to graduating seniors whoplaced first in a Skills USA, HOSA, FBLA, DECA, FFA, or TSAcompetitive event while enrolled in a high school career ortechnical program. This scholarship is offered in order topromote career and technical education and is exclusively forstudents who wish to continue their education at Hinds in acareer or technical program of study.Award: One-year, full-tuition scholarshipDeadline: July 1 Priority DeadlineHow to Apply: Submit an application for admission.
