If you are seriously thinking about a careerwith the ADF then read on. The information in this document is relevant throughout your recruiting process andafter enlistment or appointment in the ADF. You should review it regularly, especially when you get closer toenlistment or appointment.Motivation is a major point which will be evaluated in detail by each of the interviewers during the recruitmentprocess. You must be well prepared and learn everything you can about the roles and responsibilities of theposition you are applying for. As a candidate, expect the interviewer to ask questions aimed at satisfyingthemselves on these issues.Once you have successfully completed a Your Opportunities Unlimited (YOU) Session and submitted all therequired documentation, you'll attend an Assessment Session. This will include a Medical Assessment, aPsychological Interview and a Defence Interview.Academic results, health and fitness are only some of the factors considered when selecting applicants for entry.It is important to remember that your application will be considered in competition with others on a nationalbasis.As your application progresses through the recruitment process you will be constantly assessed against theAustralian Defence Force’s values and ethics. This may include the consideration of available informationincluding your employment history, associations, and any police involvements.On the 1st of October 2020, the Secretary and CDF announced the new Defence Values and Behaviours.
