ON DAFA(Lunyu*)Dafa is the wisdom of the Creator. It is the bedrockof creation, what the heavens, earth, and universe arebuilt upon. It encompasses all things, from the utmostminuscule to the vastest of the vast, while manifestingdifferently at each of the cosmic body’s planes ofexistence. Out of the depths of the cosmic body, thetiniest of particles first appear, with layers upon layersof countless particles following, ranging in size fromsmall to great, reaching all the way to the outer planesthat humankind knows—those of atoms, molecules,planets, and galaxies—and beyond, to what is stilllarger. Particles of varying sizes make up lives of varyingsizes as well as the worlds of varying sizes that permeatethe cosmic body. Lives at any of the various planes ofparticles perceive the particles of the next larger planeto be planets in their skies, and this is true at each andevery plane. To the lives at each plane of the universe,it seems to go on infinitely. It was Dafa that createdtime and space, the multitude of lives and species, andall of creation; all that exists owes to it, with nothingoutside of it. All of these are the tangible expressions,at different planes, of Dafa’s qualities: Zhen, Shan, andRen.*However advanced people’s means of exploringspace and probing life may be, the knowledge gainedis limited to certain parts of this one dimension, where* See GlossaryIhuman beings reside, at a low plane of the universe.Other planets were explored before by humans duringcivilizations predating history. Yet for all the heights anddistances achieved, humankind has never managed todepart from the dimension in which it exists. The truepicture of the universe will forever elude humankind.If a human being is to understand the mysteries of theuniverse, space-time, and the human body, he musttake up cultivation of a true Way and achieve trueenlightenment, raising his plane of being. Throughcultivation his moral character will elevate, and once hehas learned to discern what is truly good from evil, andvirtue from vice, and he goes beyond the human plane,he will see and gain access to the realities of the universeas well as the lives of other planes and dimensions.While people often claim that their scientific pursuitsare to “improve quality of life,” it is technologicalcompetition that drives them. And in most cases theyhave come about only after people have pushed out thedivine and abandoned moral codes meant to ensureself-restraint. It was for these reasons that civilizationsof the past many times met with destruction. People’sexplorations are necessarily limited to this materialworld, and the methods are such that only what hasbeen recognized is studied. Meanwhile, things that areintangible or invisible in the human dimension, butthat do objectively exist and do reveal themselves inreal ways in this immediate world—such as spirituality,faith, divine word, and miracles—are treated as taboo,for people have cast out the divine.II
If the human race is able to improve its character,conduct, and thinking by grounding these in moralvalues, it will be possible for civilization to endure andeven for miracles to occur again in the human world.Many times in the past, cultures that were as divineas they were human have appeared in this world andhelped people to arrive at a truer understanding of lifeand the universe. When people show the appropriaterespect and reverence toward Dafa as it manifests herein this world, they, their race, or their nation will enjoyblessings or honor. It was Dafa—the Great Way of theuniverse—that created the cosmic body, the universe,life, and all of creation. Any life that turns away fromDafa is truly corrupt. Any person who can align withDafa is truly a good person, and will be rewarded andblessed with health and happiness. The results we have received havebeen good, and their impact upon the entire societyhas also been quite good. A few years ago there weremany qigong masters who taught qigong. All of whatthey taught belonged to the level of healing and fitness.Of course, I am not saying that their ways of practicewere not good. I am only pointing out that they did notteach anything at a higher level. I also know the qigongsituation throughout the entire country. At present, beit at home or abroad, I am the only person genuinelyteaching qigong toward high levels. Why has no onedone such a thing as teaching qigong toward high levels?It is because this relates to questions of major concerns,profound historical reasons, a wide range of issues,1Genuinely Guiding People Toward High Levelsand very serious matters. It is not something that aneveryday person can teach, for it involves the practices ofmany qigong schools. In particular, many of our qigongpractitioners who study one practice today and anothertomorrow have already messed up their own bodies.Their cultivation is bound to fail. While others advanceby taking the main road in cultivation, these people areon the side roads. If they practice one way, the other waywill interfere. If they practice the other way, this practicewill interfere. Everything is interfering with them, andthey can no longer succeed in cultivation.We will straighten out all these matters and, bypreserving the good parts and removing the bad parts,ensure that you are able to cultivate later. However, youmust be here to genuinely study this Dafa. If you holdvarious attachments and come to gain supernormalabilities, have your illnesses cured, listen to sometheories, or come with some ill intentions, that willnot work at all. As I have mentioned, this is because Iam the only person who is doing such a thing. Thereare not many opportunities for something like this,and I will not teach this way forever. I think that thosewho can listen to my lectures in person, I would say,honestly. you will realize in the future that this periodof time is extremely precious. Of course, we believe inpredestined relationships. Everyone sits here all becauseof a predestined relationship.Think about it, everyone: What kind of matter is itto teach qigong toward high levels? Isn’t this offering2

Offering salvation to humankindmeans that you will be truly cultivating, and not justhealing illnesses and keeping fit. Accordingly, genuinecultivation has a higher xinxing requirement for students.Everyone sitting here came to learn this Dafa, so youmust here conduct yourselves as true practitioners, andyou must give up attachments. If you come to learn thepractice and this Dafa with various pursuits, you will notlearn anything. I’ll tell you a truth: The entire cultivationprocess for a cultivator is one of constantly giving uphuman attachments. In ordinary human society, peoplecompete with, deceive, and harm each other for a littlepersonal gain. All of these mentalities must be given up.Especially for people who are studying the practice today,these mentalities should be given up even further.l e c t u r e on eGenuinely Guiding People Toward High Levelsthat one would not have to repay the debt after being indebt, and this cannot be done at will. Doing otherwiseis the same as committing a bad deed.Some people think that treating patients, curing theirillnesses, and improving their health are good deeds.In my view, they have not really cured the illnesses.Instead of removing them, they have either postponedor transformed the illnesses. To really dispel suchtribulations, karma must be eliminated. If one couldtruly cure an illness and completely remove such karma,one’s level would have to be quite high.
