Concurrent EnrollmentConcurrent enrollment refers to taking courses at the Community Collegelevel. It allows high school students in grades 9-12 to be enrolled andreceive college credits. As a high school student you are eligible to attendas a special part-time student for advanced scholastic or vocationalcourses. Each college unit is equivalent to 3.3 high school credits. A 3 unitclass will allow a student to earn 10 high school credits.

Registration DatesConcurrent Enrollment (K-12) Students must submitan online Hartnell Application for Admission andapproved Concurrent Enrollment form beforeTuesday November 24th to be eligible to registeronline beginning on November 30th for Spring 2021semester.

Dual EnrollmentDual enrollment is different from concurrentenrollment in that Dual Enrollment allows high schoolstudents to take college classes at their regular schoolduring their regular school hours. All tuition and feesare waived, books are covered and college plus highschool credits are earned.

Dual EnrollmentCurrent classes being offered at NSHS:1.COU 1– Student Success Seminar Course to assist first-time college students create greater success in college and in life.2.English 1A - College Composition & Reading 3.(Fulfills the 1st year of College English and English 12 high school requirement)English 1B - College Literature and CompositionNote:Each class is worth 3 College Units/ 10 High School Credits in one semester. In addition,each class transfers to: CSU and UC Systems. More classes TBA in the future.

Hartnell College- Salinas Valley PromiseThe Salinas Valley Promise Program at Hartnell College offers2 years of free tuition which means that you do not pay for your classes.Requirements:In order to qualify for the Salinas Valley Promise, students must: graduate from high school,be a first time college student. maintain enrollment as a full-time college student, you must complete the FAFSA or CA Dream Act application,participate in the Summer Leadership Institute,participate in mentorship and quarterly workshops, andmaintain at least a 2.0 college GPA.If you meet all of the eligibility requirements and are acceptedinto the Salinas Valley Promise Program you will receive anadded benefit of either a laptop or the equivalent value in avoucher for either meals or books (approximately 300 value).

Salinas Valley PromiseZero tuition as a first-time , full-time student, regardless of your family income.Please keep in mind: if you are currently in 12th grade and are planning toattend Hartnell College in the Fall, you will need toapply for the Salinas Valley Promise Program. Hartnell College Degrees/CertificatesThe Associate Degree (AA or AS) programs: allow students the benefits of a general collegeeducation and the option of choosing from 27 different programs suchas Registered Nursing , Advanced Automotive Technology, and WeldingTechnology.Associate Degrees For Transfer: Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T)and the Associative in Science for Transfer (AS-T) programs: these degrees are intended for students who plan to transfer andcomplete a bachelor’s degree in a similar major at a CSU. Hartnellcurrently has 26 Associate Degrees for Transfer such as BusinessAdministration, Public Health and Computer Science.Certificate of Achievements: In addition, Hartnell college offers Certificate of Achievementsdesigned to develop vocational skills.
