GulbransenDIGITAL HYMNAL DH-200Master IndexThe Master Index allows easy access to all of the thousands of hymns pre-programmed into the GULBRANSENDIGITAL HYMNAL. The Master Index contains the specific hymn title and the tune name arranged in alphabeticalorder together with the hymn master reference number. For example, to play the hymn “Word of God, Across theAges”, select the Master Index code 9000, plus the master reference number (found in the Master Index) which is492. Simply press k b b b plus ENTER and f k d plus ENTER then PLAY.Another convenient way to use the Hymnal is to refer to one of the many popular hymn books that have alreadybeen indexed internally by GULBRANSEN. You will then have words and music to use with the Hymnalperformance. For example, to play hymns from The Baptist Hymnal, select code 9001 When selecting a hymn suchas “Word of God, Across the Ages” (number 262 in The Baptist Hymnal), simply press k b b c plus ENTER andd h d plus ENTER then PLAY. The Hymnal always remembers the specific hymn book that you have selecteduntil it is explicitly told to switch to a different one. It even remembers when it is turned off or the battery isremoved. Due to copyright and publisher restrictions, some hymns found in your particular hymn book may not beavailable and therefore inaccessible on the Hymnal. However, the thousands of hymns listed in the Master Index arenot restricted and can be played.HYMN BOOK NAMEEDITIONMaster Index (All hymns and tunes in the Digital Hymnal)Baptist Hymnal, TheChristian Praise Hymnal, TheHymnal, The (Episcopal)Hymns for the Family of GodHymnal for Worship & Celebration, The (Word, Inc.)Lutheran Book of Worship199119921982197619861992New National Baptist Hymnal, TheWorship: A Hymnal and Service Book for Roman Catholics19771986Presbyterian Hymnal, TheWorshipping Church: A Hymnal, TheUnited Methodist Hymnal, TheUnited States Forces, Book of Worship forWorship in SH2 MenuMaster IndexBaptist HymnalH2MSTBAHEpiscopalian Church Hymnal ECHHFGHymns - Family of GodHymns - Worshipping Church HWCLBWLutheran Book of WorshipLDSHymns - Latter-day SaintsNBHNew Baptist HymnalRCWRoman Catholic WorshipSECSongs of Epic CreativityTPHThe Presbyterian HymnalTWCThe Worshipping ChurchUMHUnited Methodist HymnalUS Forces, Book of Worship USFWISWorship in SongThe Digital Hymnal contains many compositions that are protected by copyright laws. Please observe the following warning.DO NOT DUPLICATE. HYMN NAMES versus HYMN TUNE NAMESHymn names such as “Word of God, Across the Ages” are listed in upper and lower case letters. Hymn tune names(names that are used to label the music without reference to any particular lyrical text) are all upper case (example:“AUSTRIAN HYMN” — the tune name for “Word of God, Across the Ages”). When a hymn book is unavailable, theMaster Index provides two ways to find most hymns. This well known Haydn tune appears alphabetically in the “A”sas “AUSTRIAN HYMN” and also alphabetically in the “W”s as “Word of God, Across the Ages”. Both entries showthe hymn master reference number 492.Example:AUSTRIAN HYMN492Word of God, Across the Ages 492DUPLICATE HYMN TITLESBrowsing through this Master Index you will notice that some hymn titles may be repeated with different referencenumbers. This indicates that these tunes were different enough to justify separate Hymnal recordings. Occasionally atune name will be listed more than once. This indicates that they are two distinctly different tunes, or different versionsof the same tune.Table of ContentsPagesIntroduction1-3Hymn Tune Names4-14Lists the Hymn Tune Names in numerical order as they are displayed in the DigitalHymnal when the Master Index (MST) is selected. The Copyright reference numbers are displayed next to the hymn when applicable.See example below.Hymn Names15-101 Lists ALL hymns, including the Hymn Tune Names, in alphabetical order.
