July2017Greetings again, summer is finally here! This year that has beenvery productive. Except for having to mow our lawns more often, this is the kind of summer many people would like to slow downand have it around a little longer. As you can see on the nextpage, we have taken advantage of outdoor opportunities with ourSpringtime and Summertime events.Flowers are blooming and we have already had the pleasure ofspending time outdoors and have had several “outdoor activities” outings. We are working on planting our gardens and arelooking forward to having fresh vegetables and herbs. We lookforward to trips around the surrounding areas, picnicat the park and more country bus rides. If you have any questions or just want to say hi, youknow where to find me. Let it be a great month!Melissa McDanielExecutive DirectorWilla KeenerJerry DegrootDonna PinheiroBetty SkinnerJames Morland

Another keybenefit is that being outside enables elders tosocialize and interact with caregivers as well asother adults, children and animals. Even thoughthe temperatures may be pleasant, Raab saysit's also important to make sure an elderly family member stays well hydrated; if not, it can impact muscle function and blood pressure andlead to a dangerous situation. So take advantage of this wonderful weather and sit outside for a couple minutes each day, but don’tforget to drink plenty of water and use the appropriate sun coverage.Theresa PettapieceBusiness Office Director
