GEORGIA STATE BOARD OF COSMETOLOGYBOARD MEETINGOctober 28, 2013Professional Licensing Boards237 Coliseum DriveMacon, GA 31217The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology met on Monday October 28, 2013 at the ProfessionalLicensing Boards, 237 Coliseum Drive, Macon, GA 31217.Members Present Norma Banks Betty Carlisle Dree Church-Krohn, Vice Chairperson Alice Dover Cynthia Stein, Chairperson Krista Autry James Hutcheson - excused himself from the meeting at 12:21 p.m. Sarah ScottMembers Absent Kathy McCaffreyStaff Present Deborah Beard, Executive Director Beth Duffey, Board Support Specialist Stephanie Mason Zudekoff, Assistant Attorney GeneralCynthia Stein, Chairperson established that there was a quorum present and called the meeting toorder at 9:12 a.m.OPEN SESSIONCynthia Stein, Chairperson called for the first order of business. The Board conducted themorning Citation Hearings.The Board broke for lunch while in open session.The Board returned from lunch and Cynthia Stein, Chairperson called for the next order of business.The Board continued the meeting and conducted the afternoon Citation Hearings.Krista Autry made a motion, Norma Banks seconded, and the Board voted unanimously to enterExecutive Session in accordance with O.C.G.A. §43-1-2(k) and 43-1-9(h) to deliberate informationreceived during the Hearings. The Board voted unanimously in favor of the motion.The Board concluded Executive Session in order to vote on these matters and to continue with opensession. Chairperson Cynthia Stein declared the Board back in open session.
Betty Carlisle made a motion, Norma Banks seconded, and the Board voted unanimously to acceptthe recommendations for the morning Citation Hearings as discussed by the Board and as read byDeborah Beard, Executive Director. a memo of authority, Sarah Scott seconded and the Board voted unanimously to approve therecommended changes.Cynthia Stein, Chairperson called for the next order of business.
