Microsoft Active Directory must have Global Catalogs enabled, universal groups defined, and Digitally sign communications enabled.Polycom HDX System IntegrationA system administrator must consider the following when integrating aPolycom HDX system with a CMA system in a maximum securityenvironment.Enable Enterprise Directory Through ProvisioningEnsure that sites are provisioned with the Enable Enterprise Directory GlobalDirectory field enabled. This enables Active Directory, as required, onPolycom HDX endpoints.Machine AccountsFor secure communications, an administrator must set up on the CMA systema machine account for the HDX system with which it interacts. For more information on machine accounts, see the Polycom CMA SystemDeployment Guide in Maximum Security Environments.Polycom RMX Platform IntegrationA system administrator must plan carefully when integrating a Polycom RMXconferencing platform with a CMA system as both systems manageconference settings and templates.Machine AccountsFor secure communications, an administrator must set up on the RMX systema machine account for the CMA system with which it interacts.Polycom, Inc.5

Polycom CMA System Release NotesThis machine account must include a fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) forthe CMA system. This FQDN field on the RMX system is case-sensitive, so itmust match the name in the CMA certificate (including case) exactly. For more information on machine accounts, see the Polycom CMA SystemDeployment Guide in Maximum Security Environments.Synchronization of Templates and ProfilesThe CMA system administrator must manually synchronize the settings in theCMA system conference template and its associated RMX profile.Refer to the Polycom CMA System Operations Guide for more information oncreating new conference templates. Refer to the Polycom RMX Administrator’sGuide for more information on creating RMX profiles.Management of MCU PortsIf you’re using a CMA system, do all scheduling and monitoring through it toavoid resource conflicts. While an MCU may have on-board schedulingcapabilities, scheduling conflicts can occur when both the CMA system andMCU are used simultaneously to manage the same MCU ports.Feature IntegrationFixed and Flexible Resource Capacity ModesThe CMA system supports Polycom RMX systems operating in FlexibleResource Capacity mode only. The CMA system does not support RMXsystems operating in Fixed Resource Capacity mode. That means that when aRMX system registers with the CMA system for the first time, the CMA systemqueries the RMX system for its defined number of available ports and savesthis port count in CMA system database as the RMX system's maximumcapacity. The CMA system schedules, allocates, and reports port usage basedon this initial value no matter how the RMX system port usage is defined orredefined.Auto-extend ConferenceThe RMX system has an "ENABLE AUTO EXTENSION" flag that, when set, allows conferences running on the RMX system to be automatically extendedas long as there are participants connected. The CMA system does notrecognize this setting, so the CMA system will end a conference scheduledthrough it regardless of the value of this flag.6Polycom, Inc.

Polycom CMA System Release NotesKnown IssuesThe following table lists the known issues found in this CMA system releasethat are not yet fixed.CategoryIssue #DescriptionWorkaroundSite TopologySSGSE-12058If a site is created, deleted, and thenrecreated, provisioning no longerworks for devices in that site. When creating a site, do not use thesame name as a previously deletedsite.Site TopologySSGSE-11955Using the password rotationfunctionality may cause thepassword for the Site TopologyService to be set incorrectly. This willcause the Site Topology Service tobecome unavailable. Indications thatthis has happened are:Rotate the passwords a second time.1) The following error appears in theJserver.log file:ERROR main SiteTopologyService (WebApplicationContext 0) Unable tocommunicate with site topologybackend within 120 secondsjavax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - InvalidCredentials]2) Accessing Sites on the CMAsystem results in an error messageand no sites are defined.ActiveDirectorySSGSE-11934Enterprise directory searches onPolycom HDX systems do notsucceed after initial provisioning untilthe endpoint is rebooted.Reboot after initial provisioning.ReportingSSGSE-11923Call Device Record (CDR) times forthe start and end of calls areincorrect.NoneSecuritySSGSE-11696As a user I would expect the CMAsystem to confirm that my passwordhas been changed before I amlogged out.NoneSite TopologySSGSE-11679Conferences don't show the correctsite information. As a best practice, if you makechanges to the CMA system sitetopology, you should restart thesystem.Polycom, Inc.7

Polycom CMA System Release NotesCategoryIssue #DescriptionWorkaroundSecuritySSGSE-11664Session timeout during File Upload.NoneDeviceManagementSSGSE-11627The System Name field on the FindDevice pane is editable. It should notbe editable.Do not edit the System Name in thismanner.ActiveDirectorySSGSE-11613When the CMA system;s LDAPintegration credentials are invalid, anerror message and exception stacktrace may appear in the Jserver.loglog file when the CMA system trieslogging in to Active Directory.NoneSystemAccessSSGSE-11608When the CMA system has asession timeout during a file uploador system scan, the browser locksup.NoneDeviceManagementSSGSE-11409If, in the CMA system, you have aroom in Active Directory that you firstassociate with an endpoint beforeyou designate it as a room, the roomwill lose its association with theendpoint.Do not associate rooms withendpoints until you have designatedthem as rooms.ConferenceMonitoringSSGSE-11371When a device is assigned to both auser and a guest, ConferenceMonitoring will show the guest nameas the participant name when thedevice is connected in a conference.NoneConfigurationSSGSE-11363The CMA system logs may notdisplay timestamps using the timezone configured for the system, if thesystem has not been rebooted sincethe time zone was changed. This isan issue during out-of-box setupbecause there is no reboot after thetime zone is set.Reboot the CMA system afterchanging the system’s time zone.8Polycom, Inc.

Polycom CMA System Release NotesCategoryIssue #DescriptionWorkaroundConfigurationSSGSE-11159When an administrator first enablesIPv6, the initial IPv6 address input bythe user (in the CMA network setup)becomes the "SLAAC" address. TheSLAAC address can't be removedfrom the system from that point on. Ifthe administrator then changes theIPv6 address (in CMA networksetup), the CMA system will then endup listening on two addresses: theSLAAC address and the newaddress. From then on, any time theadministrator changes the address inCMA system, the second addresswill change, but the SLAAC addresswill remain. This is a Windowslimitation that has no knownworkaround.NoneOtherSSGSE-11150The McAfee anti-virus scan enginedoes not detect the standardanti-virus test file when it iscontained in a .zip file and located insome file system locations. Theanti-virus test files are detectedduring upload even when they are ina compressed format (except in .7zipformat).NoneReportingSSGSE-11032If a call spans midnight GMT, it willbe appear in the Endpoint UsageReport as two conferences.NoneReportingSSGSE-11027If an endpoint loses connection tothe network during a call, theEndpoint Usage Report for theendpoint will not accurately reflectthe conference end-time.NoneActiveDirectorySSGSE-10942After rooms are imported into theCMA system, changes made inActive Directory to room data (e.g.,email address or description) are notupdated on the CMA system.NonePolycom, Inc.9

Polycom CMA System Release NotesCategoryIssue #DescriptionWorkaroundReportingSSGSE-10837The Endpoint Usage Report appearsto use the wrong end-date whenfiltering by date. This happensbecause the CDRs begin- andend-time are displayed as GMT, andthe filter uses the CMA system localtime. So if the call end-time for anendpoint is 6 pm local time on the25th, it will show on the report as 1am on the 26th (GMT). The filter isusing the 6 pm time, so the CDR isdisplayed.NoneSystemAccess, UISSGSE-10487When using Microsoft InternetExplorer to access a CMA system, entering the system's IPv6 addressresults in a certificate error.Specify the CMA's system’s DNSname instead of its IPV6 address inthe URI.Where to Get the Latest Product InformationTo view the latest Polycom product documentation, visit the Support sectionof the Polycom website at http://support.polycom.com/.10Polycom, Inc.
