The absenceof the QC marks indicatesthat the hub bearing hasnot yet been inspected.A fuel bowl gasket isinspected to verify thatall 13 through holes havebeen punched out. Amissing hole will causethe part to fail.

In thisexample, a bottle passesin front of the sensor, andboth fill level and capassembly are validatedbefore the product ispackaged.A color pixel count toolverifies that the correct fruitsnack flavor is present toensure that it is packagedin the correct order.Inspections on a juice boxverify that the date/lot codehas been printed, confirmthe safety seal is intact,check for the presence of astraw, and confirm that theflaps are fully secured.9

An open plugwill cause a failure in thedownstream packagingequipment.A pattern counting toolis used in this exampleto inspect the carton andto verify that the correctnumber of staple stripshave been added.A package of light bulbsis inspected to confirmthat all 4 bulbs arepresent and that none ofthe bulbs are broken.
