Nature of Warranty1.1 Audi South Africa (a Division of Volkswagen of SouthAfrica (Pty) Limited) warrants that the vehicle is free fromdefects in material and workmanship according to currentindustrial standards.1.2 This warranty is:(a) Expressly in lieu of all other warranties, obligations orliabilities, whether for direct or consequential damageor otherwise;(b) For the benefit of the manufacturer of the vehicle, AudiSouth Africa and the Audi Dealer.2. Period2.1 This warranty becomes effective on the date of delivery ofthe vehicle to the purchaser and is valid for a period of one(1) year from date of delivery. Claims during the period willnot extend the warranty.2.2 This warranty remains in force notwithstanding transfer ofownership in the vehicle.3. ClaimsClaims for repairs or defects can be made only at authorised AudiDealers and must be made immediately upon ascertaining the defect.4. Warranty CoverThe warranty covers the replacement or repair of defective partsaccording to technical requirements. Replaced items become theproperty of Audi South Africa.5. CostNo charge will be raised against the customer with regard tothe cost of repairing or replacing defective parts in terms of thewarranty, except for the cost of consumables such as oil, grease,brake fluid, and additives, etc.6. Exclusions6.1 This warranty does not cover damage or defects due to:(a) Repair of the vehicle by a workshop, not authorised toeffect the service and/or repair;(b) Installation of parts and/or accessories, the use, ofwhich has not been approved by Audi South Africa;AudiWarrantyPage 1(c) Failure by the purchaser to comply with theinstructions for the operation of the vehicle asreflected in the Instruction Manual, OperatingSpecifications and any other documentationaccompanying the vehicle on the date of delivery and/or brought to the attention of the purchaser;(d) Failure by the purchaser to comply with the service

schedule. In this regard it should be noted that, AudiSouth Africa reserves the right to reject any warrantyclaims and/or repudiate the warranty cover if servicesare not carried out within 1 000 kilometres of thespecified service interval;(e) Maintenance and normal wear and tear including, butnot necessarily limited to:(i) Brake and clutch linings, fan belts, drive belts,V-belts, wiper blades and injectors;(ii) Standard services and oil changes, including oils,gaskets, filters and other materials used eitherduring or after the services such as oil and grease;(iii) Light bulbs and fuses;(iv) Wheel balancing, front and rear wheel alignment,the frequency of which depends largely on drivingtechniques such as rapid starts, stops, tyreskidding, collision with potholes and kerbs;(v) Mechanical adjustments to items such as brakes,clutch and door locks;(vi) Windscreen and window glass breakage after theexpiry of one (1) month from the date of purchaseof the vehicle or after it has covered a distance of1 000 kilometres, whichever occurs first;(vii) Tyres. Claims must be referred to themanufacturer of the tyres;(viii) Batteries which are guaranteed by themanufacturer of the battery for a period of twelve(12) months. This does not apply to crackedbatteries for which a claim may be submitted toVolkswagen of South Africa (Pty) Limited, providedsuch claim occurs within 7 000 kilometres. Claimsafter 7 000 kilometres will not be accepted;(ix) Remote control batteries;AudiWarrantyPage 2(x) The effects of industrial pollution, corrosiondamage brought about by weather conditionsor damage to paintwork and chrome inconsequence of climatic, thermal, chemical ormechanical influences;(f) Improper handling or misuse, including but not limitedto any form of competition;(g) Poor road and adverse driving conditions resulting indamage to components which include, but are notnecessarily limited to, oil sump, rims and tyres;(h) Modifications, conversions, tuning, upgrading andfitment of non-approved after-market accessories. Thisexclusion applies notwithstanding compliance withany guidelines relating to modifications issued by theManufacturer, Audi South Africa and Audi Dealer;(i) Accident or impact damage.6.2 This warranty further excludes:(a) Indirect and/or consequential losses which include,but are not necessarily limited to, charges incidentalto breakdowns (e.g. hotel costs), loss of personaleffects and clothing, loss of income, hire of alternativetransport, etc.;(b) Any Common Law rights and remedies.6.3 The exclusions survive the termination of the warranty, forwhatever reason.Audi

WarrantyPage 3Audi Vehicle Body Warranty1. Nature of Warranty1.1 Audi South Africa warrants the body of the Audi againstcorrosion and defective paintwork.1.2 This warranty is:(a) Expressly in lieu of all other warranties, obligations orliabilities, whether for direct or consequential damageor otherwise;(b) For the benefit of the manufacturer of the vehicle, AudiSouth Africa and the Audi Dealer.2. Period2.1 The warranty becomes effective on the date of delivery ofthe vehicle to the purchaser and is valid for a period of:(a) Three (3) years after the date of delivery in respect ofPaint Defects;(b) Twelve (12) years after the date of delivery in respectof body corrosion resulting in the body metal becoming“rusted through”.2.2 Claims during the warranty period will not extend the warranty.2.3 This warranty remains in force notwithstanding transfer ofownership in the vehicle.3. Claims3.1 Claims for repairs or defects can be made, only at authorisedAudi Dealers and must be made immediately uponascertaining the defect.3.2 If a claim is accepted during the period of the warranty,the defect will be rectified at panel shops nominated orrecognised by Audi South Africa.4. Extent of CoverThe warranty covers repair or replacement of defective partsaccording to technical requirements. Any replaced items becomethe property of Audi South Africa.5. CostNo charge will be raised against the customer with regard to the costof repairing or replacing defective parts in terms of the warranty.AudiWarrantyPage 46. Exclusions6.1 This warranty does not cover claims in respect of corrosion ordefective paintwork if:(a) The defective paintwork or corrosion is attributable to,or is in respect of:(i) Accident, impact, external or mechanical damage(including stone chipping);(ii) Replacement parts not supplied by AudiSouth Africa;(iii) The effects of industrial pollution, corrosiondamage brought about by weather conditionsor damage to paintwork and chrome inconsequence of climatic, thermal, chemical ormechanical influences;(b) When the defective paintwork, corrosion or rusting isdetected, there is a delay in lodging the claim.(c) The vehicle has been serviced, repaired and/ormaintained by a workshop other than by an Audi Dealer.(d) Failure to comply with the instructions for the operationof the vehicle as reflected in the Instruction Manual,Operating Specifications and any other documentationaccompanying the vehicle on the date of delivery andbrought to the attention of the purchaser.(e) Any form of body rust proofing has been applied after

the purchase of the vehicle. It should be noted thatthe vehicle has been protected by the manufacturer,against body corrosion and no further corrosion or rustproofing treatment is necessary.(f) The body of the vehicle has been modified, convertedor altered. This exclusion applies notwithstandingcompliance with any guidelines relating tomodifications issued by the manufacturer, Audi SouthAfrica and/or the Audi Dealer.6.2 This warranty further excludes:(a) Indirect and/or consequential losses;(b) Common Law rights and remedies.6.2 The exclusions survive the termination of the warranty, forwhatever reason.AudiWarrantyPage 5Genuine Audi andRemanufactured Parts Warranty1. Nature of Warranty1.1 Audi South Africa warrants that the purchased item is freefrom defects in material and workmanship according tocurrent industrial standards.1.2 This warranty is:(a) Expressly in lieu of all other warranties, obligations orliabilities, whether for direct or consequential damageor otherwise;(b) For the benefit of the manufacturer of the purchaseditem, Audi South Africa and the Dealer.2. Period2.1 The warranty becomes effective on the date of delivery ofthe purchased item to the purchaser and is valid for a periodof twelve (12) months irrespective of kilometres covered bythe vehicle during this period.2.2 This warranty applies in respect of the fitment of purchaseditems after the New Vehicle Warranty expires.3. ClaimsClaims for repairs or defects can be made only at authorisedAudi Dealers and must be made immediately upon ascertainingthe defect.4. Warranty CoverThe warranty covers the replacement or repair of defective partsaccording to technical requirements. Replaced items become theproperty of Audi South Africa.5. CostThe warranty is limited to the replacement cost of the purchaseditem. Removal and/or installation costs are excluded.6. Exclusions6.1 The warranty does not cover repair or replacement of thepurchased item due to:(a) The installation of parts, the use, of which has not beenapproved by Audi South Africa;(b) The repair of the purchased item by a workshop notauthorised by Audi South Africa for service and repair;(c) Modification and/or alteration of the purchased item ina manner not approved by Audi South Africa;(d) Normal wear and tear;WarrantyAudiPage 6(e) Improper handling or misuse;(f) Purchased items fitted to motorsport vehicles,vehicles used in competitive events and vehicles with

synthetic bodies;(g) Accident or impact damage.6.2 This warranty further excludes:(a) Indirect and/or consequential losses which include,but are not necessarily limited to, charges incidentalto breakdowns (e.g. hotel costs), loss of personaleffects and clothing, loss of income, hire ofalternative transport, etc.(b) Any Common Law rights and remedies.6.2 The exclusions survive the termination of the warranty, forwhatever reason.AudiWarrantyPage 7Audi Freeway PlanWhat is Audi Freeway Plan?Audi Freeway Plan is a comprehensive maintenance plan which coversservices, wear and tear items, and certain repairs.Every new Audi is sold with a standard 5 year/100 000 kilometres AudiFreeway Plan to afford you, the customer, peace of mind motoring.Certain items such as tyres, body, trim, paint work, or accidental damageare excluded from Audi Freeway Plan.Please read this booklet for further information on the Audi FreewayPlan Maintenance Agreement.Driver/Owner’s Obligations: Quick ReferencePlease take note of the following important rules and requirements.Adherence to these requirements will ensure that the Audi Freeway Planis not invalidated and that you enjoy the maximum benefit from themaintenance plan:Servicing on timeAll services must be done in strict accordance with the specifiedservice intervals reflected in the Service Book. In this regard the onboardcomputer should only be regarded as a reminder.Service/repairs at Audi DealerAll services and repairs must be carried out by an Audi Dealer.Modifications/tuningUnauthorised modification, tuning, upgrading or overhaul to theengine/suspension will invalidate the Audi Freeway Plan. Only P&Aapproved kits obtained from, and fitted by an Audi Dealer is allowed.Accident damageDamage caused to the vehicle’s body components must be repairedby an Approved Audi Motor Body Repairer. While accident damage isnot covered by Audi Freeway Plan, you must report the incident toAudi Freeway Plan.Change of ownershipUpon change of ownership, please ensure that your details havebeen registered with Audi South Africa. Audi South Africa mayrequire that the Audi 80 Point approved quality check be completedby an Audi Dealer.Note: Audi South Africa reserves the right not to service the vehicleunder Audi Freeway Plan, should Audi South Africa be unable toverify the identity of the registered owner and correct its records.AudiFreeway PlanAudiFreeway PlanOperating ProceduresPage 8

1. Authorisation Procedure For AllServices and Maintenance WorkYour vehicle use will be monitored by Audi Freeway Plan (AFP). TheAFP is administered by Audi South Africa.The procedure is as follows:1.1 For your convenience and to avoid unnecessary delays makean appointment with an authorised Audi Dealer to have yourvehicle serviced and/or repaired.Note: Allow sufficient time (approximately seven daysif possible).1.2 On delivery of your vehicle to the Audi Dealer remind theservice receptionist that the vehicle is covered by the AFP.1.3 The Audi Dealer will obtain authorisation from Audi SouthAfrica to proceed with the service and/or necessary repairs.2. Payment2.1 The cost of AFP cover is:2.1.1 Included in the purchase price of the vehicle wherethe AFP is standard; or2.1.2 Charged separately where the AFP cover is extendedin terms of paragraph 11.2.2 On payment of the purchase price of the vehicle or extendedcover cost (as the case may be), the AFP contribution isinvested in the AFP fund. The AFP fund applies the AFPcontributions and interest on the contributions to meet itsobligations in terms of this Agreement.2.3 You are required to approve and sign any repair order/jobcard relating to maintenance, services and repairs performedon your vehicle. The repair order/job card should be approvedand signed at the time of the collection of the vehicle.2.4 You are responsible for payment of the cost to an AudiDealer in respect of work performed on the vehicle whichwork is not covered, or is excluded under the AFP. Paymentof such costs should be settled by arrangement with theDealer concerned.Page 93. Emergency RepairsEvery effort should be made to obtain advance authorisation priorto servicing or repairing the vehicle. Advance authorisation is usuallyobtained from AFP by your servicing Dealer. Where it is not possibleto obtain authorisation in respect of emergency repairs required overa weekend (or at any time) you should contact your servicing AudiDealer or nearest Audi Dealer on the first working day following therepair so that the repair can be ratified and recorded.4. AFP Cover4.1 Provided payment in respect of the AFP Cover has beenmade, the AFP will commence on the date of firstregistration of the vehicle and will continue for a period of 5years or a distance of 100 000 kilometres, whichever occursfirst. The extension of the initial AFP Cover is dealt with inparagraph 11.4.2 The AFP contract shall include:4.2.1 Standard services required on the vehicle as specifiedby the manufacturer;4.2.2 Adjustments in accordance with the intervalsspecified by Audi South Africa. Adjustments fallingoutside the intervals specified by Audi South Africawill not be covered by the AFP;4.2.3 Maintenance due to normal wear and tear. In thisregard Audi South Africa’s maintenance specificationschedule will apply, as amended from time totime. Maintenance falling outside the specificationschedule will be for your account.4.3 The driver/owner shall be obliged to inform AFP should thefactory installed odometer be out of order, faulty, unsealedor tampered with. In the event that the driver/owner failsto notify AFP of the faulty odometer and/or fails to repair itwithin a reasonable time, AFP shall be entitled to estimate

the number of kilometres covered by the vehicle in anyperiod that the odometer may be out of order.4.4 Should a scheduled service coincide with the full contractedAFP kilometres, such service shall be authorized provided itis performed within 1 500 kilometres and within three (3)months of the agreement’s expiry. AFP shall only cover thecost of scheduled service items.5. ExclusionsThe AFP cover shall exclude the following:5.1 Repair work to the vehicle as a result of damage to thevehicle caused by an accident, whether such accident ordamage is covered by insurance or not;Freeway PlanAudiPage 105.2 Engine tuning not in accordance with the specified timing levelsin Audi South Africa’s maintenance specification schedules;5.3 The maintenance of a telephone kit or similar cellularaccessories fitted to the vehicle;5.4 The maintenance of any vehicle tracking device, anti-hijackdevice or a similar device;5.5 The prevention of rust treatment;5.6 Rust inspection;5.7 Paint and trim preservation treatment;5.8 Body cleaning and treatment;5.9 Engine cleaning or treatment;5.10 Any other cost incurred in repairing deterioration or damageto the paint, body, trim and related items not covered by themanufacturer’s warranty;5.11 Damage resulting from poor road conditions, misuse,adverse driving conditions necessitating repairs, adjustmentor replacement of components or damage which arises fromcircumstances beyond the control of the manufacturer;5.12 Fuel consumption of the vehicle;5.13 Top-up fluids between specified services;5.14 Towing of the vehicle in the event of a breakdownor an accident;5.15 Replacement of windscreens, windows, headlights, taillights, lenses and other plastic or glass on the vehicle;5.16 Replacement of any item or part missing from the vehicle;5.17 The replacement or repair of any soft -top canvas or frame ofany cabriolet model;5.18 Sunroof pane (glass/perspex);5.19 Repairs and maintenance of the vehicle occasioned bynegligence of the driver and/or owner, howsoever arising;5.20 Repair work arising from the failure of the driver/owner tocomply with the obligations and warranties referred to inparagraph 7;5.21 Service and maintenance at unauthorised Dealers, except inemergency situations where the service and/or maintenancehas been authorized by AFP;5.22 Adjustments and/or maintenance in excess of Audi SouthAfrica’s maintenance specification schedule which may beamended from time to time at the sole discretion of AudiAudiFreeway PlanSouth Africa;Page 115.23 Indirect and/or consequential losses, which included but arenot necessarily limited to charges incidental to breakdowns(e.g. hotel costs) loss of personal effects and clothing, lossof income, hire of alternative transport, etc.;5.24 Any common law rights and remedies;5.25 Repairs and maintenance arising from any form

of competition.Note: It is recorded that the exclusions survive the termination ofthis Agreement, for whatever reason.6. AFP ObligationThe obligations of AFP in terms of the standard AFP contract orextension cover are reflected in this Agreement.7. Driver’s/Owner’s Obligation7.1 The driver/owner shall ensure that:7.1.1 No modification, tuning, upgrading or overhaul tothe engine/suspension is made or any accessory tothe vehicle is installed which is likely to increase orwhich has the effect of increasing the overall cost ofthe maintenance of the vehicle;7.1.2 Any repair/maintenance work performed on thevehicle shall only be attended to by an AuthorizedAudi Servicing Dealer;7.1.3 He/she informs the Servicing Audi Dealer that thevehicle is covered by the AFP when the vehicle isdelivered for maintenance or repairs in terms of thispolicy document;7.1.4 Any accident damage be undertaken by an AudiApproved Motor Body Repairer.7.2 The driver/owner warrants that the vehicle:7.2.1 Shall be driven in a manner recommended bythe manufacturer and for the purpose for whichit was designed;7.2.2 Shall not be abused or neglected;7.2.3 Shall not tow any item which is outside themanufacturer’s specification as contained in theowner’s manual;7.2.4 Shall not be used for the purpose of racing, pacemaking, rallying, reliability trials or speed testing;7.2.5 Shall not be overloaded either by goodsAudiFreeway Planor by persons.Page 127.3 The driver/owner further warrants that:7.3.1 The odometer in the vehicle shall not be adjusted,reset or tampered with;7.3.2 Only genuine Audi parts and/or Audi approvedaccessories will be installed in the vehicle;7.3.3 Audi South Africa and/or its Dealers shall be grantedreasonable access to inspect the vehicle from time totime;7.3.4 The vehicle shall be serviced in accordance with theintervals specified in the Owner’s Service Handbook.Note: Failure to adhere to the contents of this Agreement couldinvalidate, in the sole discretion of Audi South Africa, boththe AFP cover and vehicle warranty.8. Maintenance8.1 All maintenance and servicing of the vehicle shall be effectedin the Republic of South Africa, Botswana or Namibia.8.2 Any servicing or maintenance undertaken outside theRepublic of South Africa shall only be performed withthe prior approval of AFP. Where such work is performedoutside the Republic of South Africa, AFP shall be liable topay an amount not exceeding the cost which would havebeen incurred by AFP had such work been performed in theRepublic of South Africa.8.3 The repairs and maintenance shall be effected up to the limitauthorised by AFP. Any amount in excess of the authorisedlimit shall be payable by you.9. Change of Ownership/Disposal9.1 The AFP cover shall be transferable to the purchaser of thevehicle if the vehicle is sold prior to expiry of the contract

period and mileage limit applicable to your AFP contract,subject to the conditions contained in paragraph 9.2 and 9.3.9.2 In the event that you dispose of the vehicle or cease to bethe owner, purchaser or lessee of the vehicle before expiryof the AFP contract you shall immediately notify Audi SouthAfrica in writing and supply Audi South Africa with the nameand address of the new owner, purchaser or lessee of thevehicle. These details must be changed using any of themeans described in paragraph 12.2.9.3 Upon change of ownership Audi South Africa may requirethat the Audi 80 point quality check has been completedby an Audi Dealer. AFP shall lapse if Audi South Africa, inits sole discretion, is not satisfied with the condition of theAudiFreeway Planvehicle after such inspection.Page 139.4 In the event of the vehicle having been stolen, hijacked,destroyed or damaged beyond repair and consequentlybeen written off by an insurer before the expiry of the AFPcontract, you shall immediately notify Audi South Africa inwriting of this fact and the AFP contract shall be deemed tohave been cancelled upon the date of such occurrence.9.5 No credit or refund will be given on AFP Standard contractsin the circumstances contemplated in paragraphs 9.2, 9.3and 9.4 above.9.6 You shall be entitled to a pro-rata credit on the cost of anAFP extension contract in the circumstances contemplatedin paragraph 9.4 above, provided you purchase another Audivehicle from an Audi Dealer.10. Damage by accident10.1 Damage caused to vehicles shall only be repaired byApproved Audi Motor Body Repairers, failing which theAFP cover shall lapse. A list of Audi Approved Motor BodyRepairers can be obtained from your nearest Audi Dealer.10.2 The owner/driver shall immediately notify AFP of anyaccidents that the vehicle may have been involved in, andof the damage to the vehicle. (See paragraph 12.2 for AFPcontact details.) The servicing and maintenance plan shallbe suspended by AFP until such time as the vehicle has beenrepaired. Reinstatement of the AFP cover shall be in the solediscretion of Audi South Africa.10.3 AFP shall have the right but shall not be obliged to inspectthe vehicle prior to the lifting of the suspension of the AFPcover. Notwithstanding the reinstatement of the AFP cover,AFP shall have no liability in respect of the AFP cover if itsobligations are rendered more onerous as a result of theaccident and/or repairs.10.4 Audi South Africa shall have the right, in its discretion, toterminate the AFP contract if you fail to notify AFP of anyaccident and the details of any repairs as a result thereof.11. Extension of contract11.1 You shall have the option to extend the AFP cover subject tothe payment of the AFP extended option cost applicable atthe time of the extension.11.2 The AFP can be extended from 100 000 kilometres/5 yearsto a maximum of 200 000 kilometres/5 years (whicheveroccurs first) from the date of original registration.(Contracts cannot be extended beyond 5 years from thedate of original registration).11.3 Applications for extension must be lodged prior to the expiryof any existing AFP contract.Audi

Freeway PlanAudiFreeway PlanPage 1411.4 Quotations for the extension of AFP contracts are availablefrom any Audi Dealer.11.5 Audi South Africa shall be entitled, in its sole discretion, torefuse an application for extension.12. Theprimary focus is to get you mobile in your own vehicle. Where a roadsiderepair cannot be effected and the vehicle needs to be towed to the nearestAudi dealer, you and the occupants of the vehicle will be transported to a

Hotel Accommodation/Car RentalWhere your vehicle cannot be repaired at the point of breakdownto render it mobile, and the breakdown occurs further than 100kilometres from your normal place of residence, you are entitled toelect one of the following benefits:3.1 Hotel AccommodationAudi Assist will arrange and pay up to two (2) days towardsthe Audi South Africa preferred hotel accommodation for youand the occupants of the vehicle.3.2 Car RentalIf you prefer not to elect the Hotel Accommodation referredto above, Audi Assist will arrange and pay for car rental for amaximum of forty-eight (48) hours. This arrangement will besubject to you accepting the standard terms and conditionsof the car rental company. Audi South Africa will reimbursethe rental company on your behalf in respect of the rentalcharges only. Any charges relating to insurance, fuel and/orany other obligations reflected in the rental agreement willbe for your account.4. Vehicle Repatriation4.1 Where the breakdown has occurred further than 100kilometres from your normal place of residence, Audi Assistwill arrange and pay to collect your vehicle and return it toyour home after it has been repaired.4.2 Where the breakdown has occurred within 100 kilometresfrom your normal place of residence, Audi Assist willarrange and pay for the vehicle to be collected and repairedat the dealership closest to your place of residence.5. Vehicle Safe StorageIf required due to overnight delay, Audi Assist will arrange and pay forthe first forty-eight (48) hours of safe storage of the vehicle.Exclusions and Limitations1.
