PROPEX GAS 5 LAYER MACROCOMPOSITE PIPE Propex Gas is macro composite pipethat consists of five layers,an inner layer of crosslinkedpolyethylene (PEX), overlap weldedby an aluminium middle layer thencovered by an outer layer of yellowcoated crosslinked polyethylene(PEX), between the aluminiumlayer are the bonding adhesives.All layers are extruded in one step.OuterAdhesiveMiddleAdhesiveInnerPropex Gas pipe uses an advancedPEX material which is non toxic, noncorrosive and has a smooth bore. The middlealuminium layer allows the pipe to withstand highworking pressure and is 100% impermeable togas and oxygen. PROPEX GAS INSTALLATION* STEP 1STEP 2Cut the pipe square to the lengthof the tubing using the cutting tool.STEP 4Remove excess material or burrsthat might affect fitting connection.STEP 5Insert until the pipe end reaches theplastic sight sleeve. Ensure pipehas reached the isolating ring byviewing through the witness hole.Place the crimp sleeve in thepressing tongs and press untilthe jaws are completly closed¹.STEP 3Insert pipe firmly into the crimpsleeve of the fitting body.STEP 6Open tongs and remove fitting,ensure the fitting body has not beendamaged and that there are 3 clearcrimp lines around the sleeve.FITTING TERMINOLOGYStainless steel crimp sleeveDR brass bodyIsolating ringO-RingWitness holeCrimped jointMultilayer pipe10* Only use a licensed plumber.* Do not mix components fromdifferent manufacturers¹ Propex Gas pipe and fittingsare securely jointed by themechanical deformationof the stainless steel crimpsleeve. This deformation isachieved by using Propex Gaspressing tongs. When usingthe automatic pressing tongs,install the pressing clampaccording to the instructionmanual. For the manualpressing tongs, close the jawmanually until arms touch.
