Giggle GangAGES 3–5 Campers must be 3 years old by the start of campGiggle Gang introduces your campers to thefun of summer through outdoor play, games,songs, group activities, arts and crafts, fieldtrips, special performances, entertainment,and water days at camp!Giggle Gang campers meet rain or shine and need to bring a nut-freesnack and beverage every day. Sports CampEntering 1st - 4th GradeJoin us for a great summer of non-stop action!Sports Camp is an athletics-driven camp for children of all ability levels.This camp combines sports along with other recreational activities anda variety of field trips. Entering 5th–8th GradeExplorersAre you ready for trips, fun, and sun with your friends?Then Explorers is for you!This active camp takes FOUR trips a week to exciting Chicago areaattractions and spends every Friday at the Wheeling Family AquaticCenter! We’ll meet rain or shine. All campers should bring a sack lunch ormoney to buy lunch each day.COVID may limit field trips. Explorers will follow current COVID safetyguidelines and capacity limitations. Details on how this affects campwill be shared closer to the start of camp. Counselors in Training (CITs)Entering 6th–10th GradeNot only will CITs have a great time working with thekids, but they’ll develop leadership skills and leaveequipped with life skills to help them in the future.CITs are assigned to one of the Northfield Park District summer campprograms after undergoing mandatory training. Residency PolicyImportant Camp InfoRecreation program residency rates apply to everyone wholives or works in Northfield or lives within the Park Districtboundaries. In general, boundaries are: West of the Edens,North of Winnetka Avenue, East of Waukegan Road, andSouth of Voltz Road. Children who attend a school withinthe boundaries are also eligible for resident rates.Grade InformationThe grade listed for each camp is the grade campers areentering in the fall of 2022.Special Accommodations/InclusionThe Northfield Park District encourages participation byeveryone! If you or a family member have special needs andwould like to participate in a program, we would be happy tomake accommodations to meet your needs. Email Vickiat vheuer@northfieldparks.org.Camp StaffEach camp is supervised daily by a qualified adult director.Counselors at each camp are mature and enthusiasticcollege and high school students. All camp staff membersattend a training program, which includes supervision andsafety techniques, activity development and first aid/CPR.12Camp Activity CalendarsCalendars will be posted to our website in the comingweeks. The calendars will give you a general idea of weeklyactivities to help parents choose their camp days. Pleasenote that all activities for Giggle Gang, Trailblazers andSports Camps occur in the morning (9AM-Noon).ALL CALENDAR ACTIVITIES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.Parent ManualsParent manuals for all camps will be emailed the week ofMay 23. Easy Ways to Register!Resident Registration begins January 17Non-resident Registration begins February 7Register OnlineVisit northfieldparks.org to log in or create a newaccount. If you set up a new account, you’ll receivean email confirmation within 24–48 hours,Monday–Friday. You’ll need your password eachtime you log in. See pages 14-16 for onlineregistration walk-through.Forgot your Login Information?Click on the “forgot password” button to reset yourpassword. Please do not create a new account as thiswill create multiple accounts for you and can createproblems when trying to register.PaymentsCamp payments may be made by cash, check orcredit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover) andmay be made in person at the Northfield CommunityCenter, 401 Wagner Road, or by mail. Make checkspayable to the Northfield Park District. There is a 25service charge for returned checks.Payment PlanUse our convenient Partial Payment Plan that allowsyou to put only 100 down (per camper) when youregister and pay your balance on June 1. If you wouldlike to pay using our payment plan, please register inperson at the Community Center. Full payment mustbe made at the time of registration when signing uponline.Registration DeadlineThe deadline to register for camp is 2PM on theWednesday before the following week. We enforcethis deadline to allow for staffing, activity scheduling,and informational mailings. Anyone registering aftercamp has started may be put on a waiting list and willbe placed in the camp if there is room. Backpacks andt-shirts may not be available for campers registeringafter the first day of camp.EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION ENDS MARCH 31.Refund PolicyIf a refund request is made by April 30, a full refundis processed, less a 50 service charge per camper.From May 1 through May 27, a full refund, less a 100 service charge per camper will be processed.No Refunds will beGranted AFTER May 27We do our best to issue refunds as quickly aspossible, but delays sometimes occur to ensureaccuracy. Registering Online1. Go to northfieldparks.org and click the orange “Program Registration” button on the home page.2. Enter your Username and Password underthe “Account Log In” section on the onlineregistration home page and click the “LogIn” button.a. If you have EVER signed up for anyNorthfield Park District program orfitness membership, you have anactive account. Please click the“Forgot Password” button to resetyour password. Do NOT create anew account.b. If you are brand new to our district,please click the “Create AnAccount” button and complete theform. You will get an email whenyour account has been approved,which may take 24-48 hours.3. Once you are logged in, click the “SummerCamps” button on the online registrationhome page.4. On the next page, all of our summer camps and Before Camp Care will be listed. Choose the camp and sectionyou wish to register for and click on the calendar icon button under the “Add to Cart” header. For this example, Iwill be registering for Giggle Gang Half Days, Activity 4601-1.

Registering Online5. The following page will be a calendar withall the available days shown for the optionyou selected. To sign up, select any daysyou wish to register for by simply clicking inthe green section of any days you want.Each day selected will be added to yourcart and listed at the bottom of yourscreen.a. To unselect days, click on the bluebar buttons that appear on thedays you’ve picked.6. Once you have selected all the days you want to sign up for, click the “Add to Cart” button in the bottom left ofyour screen. In our example, I will be signing up for GG Half Days (4601-1) on 6/14/21, 6/23/21, and 7/2/21.7. The next screen will show you all family members in your household who are eligible to sign up for the days of thecertain camp that you have selected. For this example, Jimmy is the only one able to sign up for Giggle Gang HalfDays, so I have checked the box in front of the activity under his name. Click “Continue” to proceed to theQuestions/Waiver page.

Registering Online8. On the Question/Waiver page:a. Check the “I agree with the above” box under the waiver and click “Continue”.9. The next screen will show your shopping cart with all the days you are about to register for listed along with whoin your household is being signed up for that day of the listed program. Check this screen to make sureeverything you want to register for is there and, if so, click “Proceed to Checkout”.a. If you wish to enroll another camper on the same receipt simply click the “Home” button in the blueheader bar and repeat steps 3-11 before clicking “Proceed to Checkout”.10. On the Summary of Charges screen, make sure all the information is correct and select your method of payment.Once you have selected your payment method and confirmed all your personal information is correct, click“Continue”.11. On the next screen enter all your payment and billing information and click “Submit Payment” to complete youronline registration for Summer Camp 2021.12. Once your transaction has been fully processed you will return to a screen like the one shown below and yourreceipt will have been emailed to the email address listed in the box in the middle of the screen.13. When your emailed receipt comes through there will be 2 attachments. One is a PDF document named with justnumbers and the other is a PDF called “Camp T-Shirts”. In order for your camper(s) to receive a camp t-shirtplease follow the link within the “Camp T-Shirts” PDF and complete the Google Form for each of your campersindicating their name, which camp they’re registered for, and what t-shirt size they would like.14.
