The goal of X-STREAM Adventures is to enhance and simulate an interest in STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) related concepts while also incorporating the Artsand Athletics. Campers will increase creativity through building, learning, and having FUN!Knights of Summer is available for children age 3-rising 8th grade. Different camp options areavailable as is before and after camp care. After May 6th, there will be no refunds as teachers are contracted for the classes and supplies have beenordered.

Knights of Summer at Blessed Sacrament School reserves the right to dismiss, without refund, any student forinappropriate behavior. Knights of Summer follows the same discipline code stated in the BSS handbook. Knights of Summer reserves the right to cancel any class that does not have sufficient enrollment. If a class isfull or cancelled, you will be notified immediately, and you can select another class for your child or receive afull refund. For families that claim Knights of Summer as child care on their taxes, please save your receipt. BSS’s taxnumber is: 56-6017086.Dress Code There is not a formal dress code during the summer camps. However, if a student wears a t-shirt, please makesure that suggestive or inappropriate language is not printed on the t-shirt. Closed toed shoes are required,tennis shoes are suggested. Parents may wish to send aprons or smocks for messy classes.Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat time does camp start?Camp starts at 9:00 am each day and ends at noon.Does Blessed Sacrament School offer additional care before and after classes, and how muchdoes it cost?Yes, AM Care runs from 8:00 am – 9:00 am and costs 15 for the week. Afternoon care runs from 12:00 pm to4:00 pm and costs 50 for the week. You must pre-register so that we can staff accordingly.What if my child wants to join a camp, but is not in the proper grade level?Call or email us! We will discuss with you the specific camp and can make an adjustment ifnecessary! We are happy to work with you to make your Knight happy!Does Knights of Summer provide lunch on-campus?No. We ask that all campers bring their own lunch and drink. We do provide a microwave for those who mayneed it.Can I sign up for a full day camps?Yes. You have the option to sign up for camps from 9-12 and before/after camp care. Camps are pricedaccordingly, please look at our registration form.

Counselor in Training: June 6 & 8 .(Rising 6th-8th) Led by: Ms. MadiOur Knights of Summer Counselor in Training (CIT) program is for students interested involunteering with our younger campers throughout the summer. This program provides rising 6th,7th, and 8th grade students leadership training and job skills, while learning to work together andgain a basic understanding of summer camp operations. This program gives participants theopportunity to place the needs of others ahead of their own, share what they have learned and bea role model for younger campers. At the end of the session campers will have the opportunity tosign up to assist with other BSS camps throughout the summer. This training has a one-time trainingfee of 100. Session I: June 13-June 17.X-STREAM Art Appreciation Summer Camp Kick-Off WeekKnights & Junior-Little KnightsTwo Sessions offered:Little & Junior Knights-Rising Preschool—3rd Grade & Knights: Rising 4th—6th GradeInstructors: Mrs. Byerly for Little & Junior Knights & Mrs. Wetter for KnightsBack for 2022, Art Appreciation Campers will learn about a wide variety of artists and create their ownmasterpieces. We will learn about the style, famous works, and the life of artists and choose a piece ofartwork to replicate. Campers will be guided, brushstroke by brushstroke, to recreate the artists’ work.Artists will be encouraged to put their own spin on the painting to craft a unique and beautiful work. ArtAppreciation camp will create a well- rounded artist in just a week!Is your Little Knight ready to be a Popsicle stick Picasso? Open your imagination, be creative and have an artwild summer! This summer camp will offer a variety of hands on art projects. The Little Knights will explorethe sea, mix paint to find out the result, make collages, rice art and much more!Coding 1Rising 5th-8th-(Limited to 8 Campers)Instructors: Ms. MadiThis camp is for students who have no programming experience. We will use Khan Academy to learnJavaScript (programming language for web browsers). The campers will learn basic drawing, coloring andtext in video tutorials and challenges. Finally, your future techies will learn how to design simple web pagesusing notepad and Internet browser.

Knights of Summer Volleyball CampMiddle School: (Rising 5th-8th)Instructor: Coach LetvakReady, Set, Spike! Our Knights of Summer Volleyball Camp will combine the 6 major skills (passing, setting,blocking, defense, serving, attacking) of volleyball into a week of fast-paced training and game-like drills.Open to middle school athletes, the goal is to meet the needs of each individual camper. Campers will beexposed to team systems that will help prepare them for scholastic, recreational, club, and collegeprograms. Are you ready to serve up some summer fun with the Knights Volleyball Camp?!. Session II: June 20-June 24 .Knights of Summer Soccer Camp(Rising 5th-8th) Instructor: Mr. AleemThe Knights of Summer Soccer Camp will provide players with a rounded soccer experiencecovering a broad range of soccer techniques, skills, and tactics. Players will be challenged at anappropriate level while receiving instruction in a fun, positive environment.Beginners Sewing-Limited to 8 campers(Rising 6th-8th) Led by: Mrs. FitzgeraldSewing fundamental emphasizes the development of basic sewing skills used to create apparel.This course focuses on pattern and fabric selection, basic construction techniques pressing skills,timesaving technologies, and techniques. Learn how to use the sewing machine.Around the World in Five DaysTwo age group sessions offered:Rising Pre—2nd- Led by: Mrs. WetterRising 3rd—5th- Led by: Mrs. BolenAround the world in 5 days! Campers will “travel” through countries around the world each day andexperience the country’s history, climate, sports, people, culture, art, food and fun. Session III: June 27-July 1 .Huepa Culture Zumba Camp(Preschool to Rising 8th Grade) by Mrs. Yholima VragasThis Zumba is a dance-fitness class that combines fast and slow rhythms from Latin andinternational music. The class adheres to a specific interval pacing formula, maximizingcaloric output and body toning using easy steps and high-energy music. No dance experiencenecessary.Under the Sea(Rising 3rd—6th Grade) Led by: Mrs. Worley & Mrs. WetterJoin us for a week of hands-on exploration as we learn about fish, creatures, and other life underthe sea. Camp activities will include art, science, outdoor time, nature, movement, and a visitfrom live creatures. Session IV: July 11-July 15 .Ice Age Dinosaur CampTwo age group sessions offeredRising Preschool—1st Grade Led by Mrs. CorradiniRising 2nd—4th Grade Led by: Mrs. BostDo you want to go back in time and roam with the dinosaurs? Come and join us during Ice AgeDinosaur Camp and see what a fossil looks like, how dinosaurs came to this world, their favoritemeal, learn about their habitats and how they became extinct. Campers will explore hands onprojects such as making fossils out of clay, matching dino pattern blocks, create dinosaurskeletons, design their own dinosaur and engineer a habitat.American GirlsRising 1st—5th Grade Instructor: TBDBack by popular demand, American Girl camp will revisit the old favorites like creating clothingand costumes for our dolls. Campers will also learn more about their doll by researching their livesand sharing information with the camp. Campers will also work with their dolls to script, rehearse,and perform a play at the end of the week. American Girl camp wouldn’t be the same withoutdress-up days like the pajama party and a fancy tea party as the finale of the week!Coding—Level 2(Rising 5th—8th Grade) Led by: Ms. MadiThis camp is for students who have completed Coding—Level 1 Camp or have basic codingexperience. We will use Khan Academy to learn JavaScript (programming language for webbrowsers). The students will learn cool functions to make images change and move (animation), orinteract with users. The students will gradually find that the code can be written in reasonable andreusable manners. Session V: July 18-July 22 .Bloom Where You’re Planted(Rising Preschool—Kindergarten) Led by: Mrs. MirandaDoes your child love gardening and being outside? Join us this summer as we go on a nature walk todiscover all the beauty around us. This hands-on summer camp will have discussions on what plantsneed to grow, the parts of a plant, plants that we can eat and should not eat! Campers will plant,collect nature items to make nature mosaics, act as detectives and dig to find insects, listen to thebirds, bees and other tiny creatures. We will also make healthy summer drinks. Life’s a garden—let’s dig it together!

Campers will have the opportunity to visitsome of Burlington’s iconic landmarks while getting an educational experience as well as exerciseand fresh air in this week-long guided tour. Burlington City Park, May Memorial Library, STEAMJunction, Burlington Fire and Police Departments are just a few of the stops along the way! Grabyour comfy shoes and let’s get ready to hit the road!Knights of Summer Softball Camp(Rising 4th—8th Grade) Instructor: TBDAre you a softball fan? Are you looking for a way to spend your summer that’s fun, challenging, andwill help you up your game no matter what position you play? Look no further than a summersoftball camp! Open to middle school athletes, the goal is to meet the needs of each individualcamper. Campers will be exposed to team systems that will help prepare them for scholastic,recreational, club and college programs. Are you ready to serve up some summer fun with theKnights Softball Camp?!

. Session VII: August 1-August 5 .Knights of Summer Basketball Camp(Rising 1st-8th Grade) @ The Koury Center from 9am-12pmCalling all future Blue Devils or Tarheels! Improve your fundamental basketball skills and becomebetter players through on-court training and off-court educational sessions by exploring themathematics and physics behind the game. Campers will experience quality, high-intensity, drillbased exercises that focus on improving players’ skill sets on the court, as well as build characterand confidence off the court. Campers will strengthen their physical mentality while boosting theirconfidence to become more aggressive and skilled players. All levels of basketball players arewelcome to attend this camp. Bring your tennis shoes and be ready to dribble your way tobasketball success!
