The days are long, the flowersand plants are flourishing, and the mornings welcome us with a warm – butnot too warm – greeting. As I am walking the dogs or just being outside in theearly AM’s I sometimes cannot help but have Simon and Garfunkel’s 59th StreetBridge Song pop into my head. You too? It’s a simple, wonderful song that triesto express what it means to feel good, or as the song goes, “Feelin’ Groovy.”Facebook: Christ LutheranChurchfhStaffPastor-The Reverend Ronald Breightpastor@christlutheranfh.orgPastor Emeritus-The ReverendReholma McCantsI think that feeling good is the ultimate goal of every single person ever. It iswritten into this country’s founding documents, explained as the pursuit ofhappiness. We always ask people, “How are you doing?” “Good,” is the standard reply, whether it is really true or not. This year’s newsletter articles byyours truly are about the critical need for members to be involved in worship. Ioften hear people say things like, “I just feel better after I go to church.” Or, “IfI don’t go to church my whole week is off.” Those people are getting something out of worship! It makes them feel good (even groovy?).Vicar-Vincent MrozIt is hard to imagine any kind of holiday, be it religious, civic, or a birthday, which does not include a gathering of family. Gathering as family feels good.On Sundays the church celebrates the most important holiday of all – the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Him, we also have blessed eternal life. No wonderwe join together as God’s family to celebrate. God intends worship to besomething that makes us feel good. We feel good because we know he wantsus to be there (3rd Commandment), we have a meaningful conversation withGod (Word, songs, and prayer), we share a meal together (Lords Supper), itends with God’s promise of peace and presence that accompany us all weeklong (Benediction), and everyone at church participates together in these greatweekly highlights (fellowship). Do you want to feel good? Then carve out timeon Sunday mornings and be sure to come to church! Maybe you’ll leave humming the 59th Street Bridge Song too!President: Jim LawAssistant to PastorBarb Mitchellassistant@christlutheranfh.orgOffice AssistantTheresa rs and CommitteesVice President: Neil AckermanTreasurer: Cal EggersSecretary: Barb MitchellFinancial Secretary: Dee LawElders: Cal Eggers, Glenn Filler, JohnCrawford, Al DickTrustees: Frank Elaschat, Lynn Fisher,Dave Wible, Megan ElaschatEducation: Rick Kern JohnnieMcCants, Lori Schriver, Gloria SternIn the Spirit of Christ,Finance: Cal Eggers, Michael Lis,Stephanie Lydon, Barry Schoenthal,Richard MuellerPastor Ron BreightOutreach: Ruth Hirko, JonathanBreight, Linda KernEndowment Committee: Cal Eggers,Glenn Filler, Kathy Sourbeer
