The U.S. Department of Housingand Urban Development through the community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program providesscholarship funds to Mount Vernon residents who are classified as low to moderate income and are enrolled in acommunity college, a university or vocational program. Twenty-five (25) students who are enrolled in full-timepost-secondary institutions will be selected to receive a 2,000.00 scholarship for the 2018 – 2019 academic year.Awards will be dispersed directly to the schools in two, 1,000.00 increments each semester. You must be acitizens or permanent residents of the United States of America. (Must be residents of Mount Vernon, New Yorkand provide any document showing U.S. Citizenship or legal resident status). If selected for the scholarship,students must enroll as full-time students in a post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2018. Applicants mustmeet the criteria for poverty income for the entire household and complete and complete the intake/family memberinformation forms and scholarship application.
