Understanding the Ranking Process:When all admissions and TEAS score requirements are met, qualified applicants are ranked using a pointsystem. Enrollment in the related courses is not required for acceptance; however, extra points will be given.The completion of related courses will make you more competitive and lighten your course load if you areadmitted into the program. Related course points will be added to the total TEAS score for ranking in thecompetitive program.Related Coursework Completed by the deadlinePoints are awarded for specific course grades completed by the deadline. Grade points are valued asfollows:A 4 points; B 3 points; C 2 points (no points will be assigned for grades lower than “C”)AP credit is based upon the individual scores as follows: 5 A 4 points; 4 B 3 points; and 3 C 2points. No AP credit will be awarded for a score of 2 or lower.If a course is repeated, the highest grade earned will be used in the ranking.CompleteCourse and Credit Hour: ACA 115 or ACA 122 BIO 175 or 275 ENG 112 HUM 115GradeQuality Points EarnedTotal Points for Ranking and SelectionAdding the points earned for the related courses and the TEAS Total Score produces the total rankingscore used in the selection process. Post-Acceptance Expectations and RequirementsOnce an applicant has been offered a full-time space in the Associate Degree Nursing program, he/she mustcomplete the following by the deadline dates provided at nursing orientation. If you are unable to complete therequirements by the deadline, you will lose your seat in the program. Students accepted into the program willbe given instructions on where and how to submit documentation.It is strongly recommended to begin working on the following requirements/documents once accepted into theprogram. Attend a mandatory departmental orientation to learn about clinical requirements Obtain health & immunization records and a physical exam which will be uploaded to acompliance database. Information will be provided from the program director on how toupload once accepted into the program.The following immunizations are required for the nursing program. You may begin getting yourimmunizations. Some of your immunizations will require a fee. Covid-19 Complete 2-Step TB Test or IGRA Hepatitis B Influenza Varicella Td or TDaP MMR Comply with the Technical Standards outlined for the Nursing program It is highly suggested that all students have health insuranceClinical facilities may require criminal background checks, drug screenings, credit checks, and/or proof of UScitizenship prior to or during participation in the clinical portion of a program. A student who is unable tocomplete the clinical portion of a program will not be able to graduate. Essential Functions and Technical Standards for Associate DegreeNursing StudentsPurpose Statement: The following standards reflect reasonable expectations of a student in the Associate DegreeNursing (ADN) Program for the purpose of common functions of the registered nurse. In adopting these standards, theADN Program is mindful of the patients’ right to safe and quality health care by students. The ADN student must be ableto apply the knowledge and skills necessary to function in a broad variety of clinical situations while providing thespectrum of practical nurse interventions. These standards reflect what may be required for employment of thegraduated ADN. To verify the students’ ability to perform these essential functions, students may be required todemonstrate the following technical standards; by initialing the standard, the student state he/she has the ability tomeet standard requirements:CapabilityStandardCognitive Ability/CriticalThinking SkillsAbility to collect, interpret, and integrate dataand information in order to make decisionsquickly.
