1 INTRODUCTIONThis document covers the pre-requisites to use PaperSaveCloud. It includes key information suchas supported browsers, operating systems, integrated applications versions. PaperSave’s userexperiences are primarily browser or native mobile OS (iOS and Android) based. However, thereare some features (such as interfacing with a TWAIN compatible scanner) in the desktop web userexperiences that only work on Microsoft Windows as they require the web app to communicatewith a Windows component called the PaperSave Windows Client. This document also covers thelist of functionalities in PaperSave that require the PaperSave Windows Client as well as the prerequisites for that component.2 PAPERSAVE SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS2.1SUPPORTED BROWSERS AND OPERATING SYSTEMS FOR PAPERSAVE’S DESKTOP WEBAPPSupportedOS SupportedBrowsers*Google ChromeWindows Windows 8 Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise, Business Windows 8.1 Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise, Business Windows 10Supported Edition for above versions: Google Chrome32-bit and 64-bitmacOS 10.14 and aboveMinimum Supported Resolution: 1600 x 900* signifies that PaperSave 7 should work on all modern browsers like Chrome, Chromium Edge,Firefox, Safari, & Opera. However, we have only verified on Chrome for now. Feel free to tryPaperSave in browser’s other than Chrome and let us know if you find issues. While we onlyofficially support Chrome, we will accept your feedback as we work toward broader browsersupport.

2.1.1INSTRUCTION TO ACCESS PAPERSAVE TILE WHEN USING THE GOOGLE CHROME INCOGNITOWINDOW/TABFollow the below steps when accessing the PaperSave tile from Google Chrome Incognitowindow/tab.1) Open an incognito window from the ellipsis icon in the top right corner of GoogleChrome or press “CTRL SHIFT N” in Google Chrome, as shown in the below screen.

2) You will see a setting titled “Block third-party cookies” in the center of the incognitowindow, which is turned on by default.3) Turn off the "Block third-party cookies" setting manually (as shown in the below screen)in the Google Chrome incognito window/tab to ensure smooth access of the PaperSavetile.

Warning:The PaperSave tile may not be visible when accessing the application inthe Google Chrome incognito window/tab, and the "Block third-partycookies" setting is turned on.

3 PAPERSAVE WINDOWS CLIENT (OPTIONAL AND ONLY NECESSARY FORCERTAIN INTEGRATED APPS)The PaperSave desktop web application leverages a windows component called the “PaperSaveWindows Client” to drive the capabilities listed below. While most of the logic for thesecapabilities is driven from the browser, there are certain operations that a browser-basedapplication cannot accomplish without coordinating with a component that runs on a user’sworkstation and which uses code native to that workstation’s operating system. These operationsare currently only supported on a Windows based desktop. We do not have a component likethe PaperSave Windows Client to enable these capabilities on macOS or Linux variants.It isimportant to note that not all users or situations require these capabilities. As a result, thePaperSave Windows Client need only to be installed by users who have the need to use thesefeatures. It is also important to note that this component does not require special administrativeprivileges during install on a Windows workstation. The component installs into users’ profiles, isset to run automatically when a user is logged in and updates itself when needed.Capabilities that rely on the PaperSave Windows Client component Web Scanning with TWAIN Scanners Web Scanning with Check Scanners Sending a document in an eMail as an attachment.Note: Sending a link to a document does not require the component. Designing a workflow Opening a Word, PowerPoint, or Excel document in the Windows based OfficeDesktop embedded experience.Note: Opening these documents from within the Office Web App embeddedexperience in the PaperSave browser-based application does not require thecomponent. 4 PERIPHERAL RECOMMENDATIONS/REQUIREMENTS (OPTIONAL)Users performing certain tasks like scanning documents/checks or using PaperSave’s workflow tostreamline manual data entry may either require or benefit from a specific set of peripherals. Note:Scanning on MacOS is only supported on cloud-based scanners such as the Fujitsu fiNX series scanners. Click here for more information on how PaperSave works with theFujitsu fi-NX Series Scanner.4.1.1 RECOMMENDED SCANNER SETTINGSPaperSave recommends the following output settings: Multi-page searchable PDF 300dpi resolution Black & White (monochrome/1-bit) color setting4.1.2 PAPERSTREAM IP OR KOFAX VRS SOFTWAREPaperStream IP and or Kofax VRS are specialized scanner drivers that deliver high quality imageprocessing presented through user-friendly and intuitive options. These drivers convert mostscanned documents into exceptionally clear image data, which improves the results of PaperSave’simaging and OCR modules as well as performance. This in turn helps boosts work efficiency andproductivity. These drivers are included with the Fujitsu fi-6 series and fi-7 series scanner. Werecommend that you take advantage of these drivers if you obtain one of these scanners. Letyour PaperSave implementation team know that you would like to arrange for their installationand configuration during the implementation.4.2OTHER PERIPHERALS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONSPaperSave recommends dual monitors (or large screen monitors) on workstation(s) utilizing theWorkflow App to perform side by side data entry into Integrated Applications from items inWorkflow.

5DATA ACCESS SERVICE (OPTIONAL AND ONLY NECESSARY FORCERTAIN INTEGRATED APPS)PaperSave Data Access Service acts as an intermediary between PaperSaveCloud and IntegratedApplication’s data located in on premise environments. Many PaperSaveCloud features rely onthe Data Access Service to either pull or push data into the applications that PaperSave integratesinto. It is a vital and necessary component when PaperSaveCloud is integrated into the followingapplications hosted in an on-premise environment:Integrated Applications requiring the Data Access ServiceMicrosoft Dynamics GPMicrosoft Dynamics SLBlackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge 7* (On premise only)Blackbaud’s Financial Edge 7* (On premise only)Note:The component is not necessary for NXT or Blackbaud Hosted.5.1DEPLOYING THE DATA ACCESS SERVICEThe Data Access Service exposes a private and secure web service (SOAP XML) endpoint thatPaperSaveCloud uses to interface with the backend of certain on-premise systems. It can bedeployed using a simple setup (recommended) or advanced setup. The differences are outlinedin the Data Access Service guide. The simple setup option is preferred unless there are advancedload balancing, DMZ, or other such networking requirements in your deployment.
