We are adding some events to our calendar byrequest of some of the members. June 3rd we will have a swap meetand June 24 we will be having a Warbird event. HEMET MODEL MASTERS BOARD MEETINGMinutes for January 2, 2017Meeting called to order by President Mario Muniz at 6:56 pm. Board members present; Mario Muniz,Richard Lawrence, Stewart Robinson, Ralph Torres, Dick Hanke, Jeff Barker, Mark Lewis, LawrenceVasquez and Scott Boersma.President Mario Muniz started with projects we need to complete that were proposed in 2016. Thetables at the Lakeview/Davis field, signage and the possibility of laying down some gravel at theentrance to the field to help getting in and out after heavy rains. The area where the heli/quadcopter padat the main field, along with one shade structure. We also need to finish cutting down, spraying and dragging the main field. We need to wait a bit untilthe weather improves. We will be having two IMAC events this year, one in May and the Regionals will be held at HMM sometime late Nov early Dec. We will be looking into setting up all the events for the club and perhaps a newone or two.Discussion was brought up about one of the members of the club that is dissatisfied with the club andthe membership. He feels that the club is an unfriendly one and will not be rejoining the club for 2017.However because he likes the facilities he feels that he can return as a guest at least three times andmore illegally if he desires. The Board has sent a notice to this member that he will not be allowed to usethe club facilities as an ex-member/guest.Also, the Board has decided that the gate code will be changed every Feb 1. The Board decided to extenda “Grace Period” for renewing members until Jan 31 of each year, consideration for holiday expenses, along with AMA renewals and the club is difficult for some of our members. After Jan 31 an expiredmembership will be treated as a “New Member” and will have to pay the Initiation again. The new gatecode will be sent to all current members and we ask that you do not share this with anyone.President Mario Muniz suggested that John Rigby be given Snow Bird Status, since he is rarely in townand Muir Loftus paid his dues for 2017 but will not be coming down this year from Canada, so his membership will be “frozen” and valid for next year. All board members agreed to implement the suggestions.President Mario Muniz let new Vice-President for 2017 Scott Boersma know that he needs to take acopy of the Board Minutes to the Bank of Hemet where the club has their accounts and sign a newsignature card followed by the other three Executive Board members. The projection for any repairs we need to make on the runway is set for 2018. We will be consideringimprovements that will last for years.A list of members who have not renewed their AMA will be posted at the fields. No one is allowed to flyat our facilities without a current AMA. No Exceptions!!Lastly we would like to thank Lawrence Vasquez who has decided to donate the grill we have been usingover the last few months.Meeting adjourned at 8:10 PMMembers Present 9Minutes submitted by Mario Muniz

HEMET MODEL MASTERS GENERAL MEETINGMinutes for "December 17, 2016"Meeting called to order by President Mario D Muniz 9:25 am.Treasurer Stewart Robinson gave the Treasurer’s Report. Motion to accept byLawrence Vasquez and seconded by Dick Hanke, voted and approved by allmembers present.President Mario Muniz called for a motion to approve last months minutes aspublished in the newsletter. Motion to accept by Jeff Barker and seconded byVincent Michael, voted and approved by all members present.Old business; The need to repair small tractor was brought up by Mario Munizand Richard Lawrence and he will look into taking care of it. We also spokeabout the need to complete the projects at the Lakeview/Davis field, referencingthe tables that need to be built and the disposal of the large wood wire spools. We also need to clear the rest of the weeds, then drag and spray the field to tryand prevent future growth.President Mario Muniz spoke to the members present and gave them an updateon the display that we had at the Hemet Annual Christmas Parade. A bigthanks goes out to Art Chavez and Vincent Michael for their help. If not forthem we would have had one aircraft at the display. It is very disappointing toalways have the same few individuals help out at these events. We are enjoying facilities that belong to the City of Hemet and we can’t give upfour or five hours to help out at these events is embarrassing in my opinion. Ifwe don’t show some appreciation to the City for what they provide free ofcharge, then when the day arrives for them to kick us out what will you have torespond with as far as giving back to the community. They don’t ask for anything, be grateful and help out when ever you can.Meeting adjourned at 10:17 am Minutes submitted by Mario MunizTotal Attendance 18 persons

The new flightrestrictions permanently prohibit the operation of unmanned and radio-controlled model aircraftwithin roughly 3.5 miles of both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme parks. The restrictionsare also in place for a period of one hour before and one hour after major sporting events.

SHOW & TELLMario showed us a Life Battery from Hobbyking, 2 cell 6.6v great for receiver, only 5.22 from US warehouse. These are thin and will fit almost anywhere.

As everyone has probably heard by now a Sheriff’s Helicopterlanded at the main field to address a pilot who was flying and theyfelt he was to high. The chopper was at 600 feet and the RC Pilot was at the same altitude. This is why we have placed a rule for all pilots flying turbines, pattern and Imac that they must have a spotter when flying so theycan warn the pilot of full scale aircraft approaching. It takes only one incident to shut us down. Do you want to be theperson who is guilty of shutting down the field and ruining the ability of over 170 members to be able to fly their model aircraft.THINK! USE A SPOTTER!!SAFETY AT THE FLYING SITESPLEASE ADHERE TO CLUB SAFETY POLICIES, THESE WERE PUT IN PLACEBY YOU THE MEMBERS AND A FEW OF YOU CONTINUE TO IGNORE THEM.Starting of any engines is north side of yellow line, aircraft facing runway. No taxing in the pits andstaying within established perimeters , exceeding 400 ft ceiling. We have full scale aircraft overhead allthe time and it only takes ONE incident to lose our field. No flying over the field workers on adjacentproperties EVER!The Hemet Model MastersMay BirthdaysWe would like to welcome our newestmembers to the Hemet Model MastersJohn Howe, Larry Monroe, Warren Schlaberg,John Vititoe and Raymond WuMaurice Jolliff, returning member MikeVedepo
