Before you move the scanner even a short distance, switch the scanner off andunplug the power cord. Adjusting the image You can adjust the image on the screen by focusing, zooming, and rotating thepicture. Each of these is accomplished by the dial just below and to the right of the screen NOTETowards the end of most microfilms, the advance function will stop working. The only option foradvancing the microfilm further is to do it manually. PLEASE DO NOT FORCE THE DIAL!!! It wontwork. And if it is broken we will be most unhappy. So, to zoom in or out on, rotate, or focus thepicture on the screen, simply press the appropriate button and move the dial until the screen isdisplaying correctly. You can also use the brightness controls to lighten or darken the scannedimage as you would on a standard photocopier Microfiche Simply slide the microfiche plate until youfind the section you wish to read. You may need to zoom in. NOTE this does not affect the brightnessof the screen only the scanned image is affected. Saving You can save your image to the computershard drive in JPEG, JBIG and Bitmap formats. We strongly encourage all patrons to remove theirsaved images to a flash drive, CD or other medium AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. We will periodicallyclear the hard drive of all saved data.
