Product InformationVitocell 300-W/V, EVIA/EVIB Technical DataBenefitsHygienic, convenient and economical Domestic hotwater (DHW) heating with DHW tanks made fromstainless steel – vertical versionBenefits at a glance:Corrosion-resistant tank of high-grade stainless steeloffers a long service life.Fully hygienic due to high quality homogeneousstainless steel surfaces. The high-alloy material is immune to cracking orpeeling. The tank stays hygienic and requires onlyminimum service.Does not require a consumable anode for corrosionprotection. The entire water content is heated by a 1e in. (35 mm)pipe diameter (OD) stainless steel heat exchangersurface which extends to the bottom of the tank. The positioning of the tubular heat exchanger coilfurther ensures that 82% to 97% of the tank volumecan be drawn at constant water temperature. The stainless steel heat exchanger coil is selfventing towards the top and self-draining towardsthe bottom, therefore not susceptible to reducedheat transfer due to air lock or deposits.Universally suitable – for applications requiringlarger quantities of hot water, multiple vertical tankscan be combined via headers to form tank batteries.Standby losses minimized by highly effective foamup to 2f in. (68 mm) thick.119 USG (450 L) version comes equipped withremovable soft PET insulation for easier handling.Easy transport into mechanical room due to lowweight and compact construction.25472 455 - 01Certified to CSA Low Lead Content CertificationProgram;including US Safe Drinking Water Act, NSF/ANSI372 as well as other applicable US Staterequirements.

The heatingcontractor must install the valve on each tank in amethod meeting code requirements. If local codes requirea different relief valve, substitute the manufacturer’ssupplied valve. Maximum operating pressure is 150 psig. The T&P relief valve supplied with the tank is testedunder ANSI Z21.22 Code for Relief Valves and AutomaticGas Shut-off Devices for Hot Water Supply Systems.T&P ValveASME pressure steam ratingCSA temperature steam ratingRelief temperatureInlet threadOutlet thread150 psigsee ratings marked onT&P valve205 MBH*210 F (99 C)c in. malec in. female* 105 MBH for 42 USG (160 L)Tempering valveEnsure that temperature tempering valve(s) is installedif the domestic hot water storage tank temperatureexceeds 140 F (60 C) to protect from scalding.Consult plumbing codes and authorities for localrequirements.Scan fordigital copyof thisdocumentIn a multiple-tank installation, it is recommended thatan additional high limit temperature device be installedin the common domestic hot water supply header to thesystem. This safety device should be wired in series tothe operating control of the tank battery. The setting on this additional high limit temperaturedevice should be approximately 9 F (5 C) higher thanthe operating high limit.Recirculation tappingThe recirculation tapping is on a separate tapping (seepages 8 and 9). Cap this opening if the tank is notinstalled with recirculation.Printed on environmentally friendly(recycled and recyclable) paper. To ensure optimum, safe operation, the stainless steelwell must be used. The well diameter is large enough toaccommodate a wide variety of sensing bulbs. Always usespring clip to ensure proper contact of capillary bulb againstthe stainless steel well for proper sensing/heat transfer!WARNINGBackflow preventersWhere backflow preventers are required, a domesticwater expansion tank installation is recommended inthe cold water inlet piping before the cold water entersthe Vitocell. For the backflow device, observe localplumbing codes and regulations.Warranty considerationViessmann DHW tanks require that the water heatedshould be of drinking water quality and that any watertreatment equipment in use must function correctly. If the product has been improperly installed or misappliedby the installer, contractor or final user, Viessmannaccepts no responsibility for damage howsoever causedand reserves the right to withdraw the product warranty. In order to qualify for product warranty, strict adherenceto the installation and service manuals must be observed. In the event that components not approved by Viessmannare utilized, Viessmann reserves the right to withdraw allexpressed or implied warranties without written notice. The water to be heated with the Vitocell must be drinking(potable) water quality. If the tank is used to heat othermedia, the warranty will be null and void. Damageresulting from excessive pressure or temperature isclearly not the responsibility of Viessmann. The amount of chloride and sulfate acceptable to the tankis limited. In areas where high concentrations of chlorideand sulfate are present in drinking water, please consultViessmann for directions. For full warranty details, please read the product warrantysheet.Technical information subject to change without notice.WARNINGInstallation of additional high limit temperature device(s)5472 455 - 01Sensor wells for 42 USG (160 L) to 79 USG (300 L) tanksThe installed sensor wells are to be used for controlsensors to ensure maximum operational safety. For solar heating systems, Viessmann recommendsplacement of the DHW tank temperature sensor in thesolar collector return. This requires a brass elbow withthe sensor well (see page 8).
