Revd Mark writes .Come what may .Jesus is LORD!On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kingsand Lord of all lords. Revelation 19:16What we need, is for Jesus Christ to be reinstated as Lord inour province and nation. Once upon a time that would havebeen a perfectly acceptable thing to say here in the UK butnowadays it is a radical thing to say, because plenty don’twant Jesus to be Lord. We are all too aware of the ungodlyenterprises that make their way, wholesale or by stealth, intoour laws and parliament. The unleashing of horrendousabortion liberalisation on Northern Ireland is one of the latestexamples. There are plenty more.Sadly, but not unexpectedly, many now make it their life’smission to eradicate Christianity completely. Christians havebeen dragged through the courts for placing Jesus at theheart of their business decisions or choosing to run theiraffairs to His glory.Every day we find stories in our papers and media broadcastswhich seem to confirm and compound the reality. Some of it Ihave to say is the fault of elements in the church for failing toprovide Biblical leadership, seeking to curry favour with thetrend, rather than keeping faith with our God whose ways andcommands have only our best at heart.and have a go. We will be pleased to see you.Vacancy - BovevaghIf anyone would be willing to organise the ChristmasPost and/or carol singing to the housebound andthose in Nursing homes please let me know as I amretiring from organising these.Lily WallacePoppy AppealAs usual the Poppy collectors will be calling at ourhomes shortly. Please give generously as many arestill suffering from the results of conflict both athome and abroad. Also on Remembrance Sundaythe loose collection at the Morning Service will gotowards the Earl Haig Fund.Present and ex-Servicemen/woman please assemblein the foyer of the Parish Centre prior to the Bovevagh Serviceon Remembrance Sunday.Alan, Mark, Gregory and myself would like to thank all thosewho have generously supported us in our recent Tractor drivefrom Mizen to Malin Head, in memory of Gareth Simpson,Norman Black and Jamie Barr. We completed it in 23 hours and46 minutes, in the rain , wind and sunshine! We wereastounded by the generosity of the local community and wewere able to present a total of 9269 to the Limavady Initiative

GB Coffee EveningOur annual GB coffee evening will be on Monday 2nd December 6.30pmto 9.00pm. This is our main fundraiser. There will be cakes and buns onsale as well as crafts and bric-a-brac. Wewould like to thank the knitters who have knitted the wonderfulscarves, hats, gloves, handbags and pencils cases. There are plenty ofitems we still need and you can leave donations in the boxes in thechurch or in the hall. If you wish to make a money donation, please seeany of the GB leaders or Sunday school leaders. Your help andco-operation is greatly appreciated.ThanksAngie and TeamPrayer Ministry Training DayMagheralin Parish Church - Saturday23rd November 2019 9.30am -3.30pm.Further details from Rev Mark who willbe attending.Bovevagh Bowling ClubBovevagh Bowling Club practice nights are on Tuesdays from 7.45pm.New members welcome—contact club captain Sammy Caldwell07593357151.Dungiven Bowling Club.Contact - Captain : Derek Morrow : contact number 07802373876.Vice Captain : Leslie Armstrong : contact number 07703722204.Indoor Bowling Practice each Monday night at 8pm. New membersvery welcome. No age limitations and no ability required. Come alongHowever, whether people like it or not, or believe it or not,our God is sovereign, and Jesus is and will be Lord. The daywill come when everyone will acknowledge that. Scripture isclear that evil will seemingly be winning right up to the finalhour. Then God’s axe will fall. In Isaiah 45:22-23, it says, “Letall the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is noother. I have sworn by my own name; I have spoken the truth, and I will never go back on my word: Every knee will bend tome, and every tongue will declare allegiance to me.”Later on, when Paul is writing his letter to the Philippians, heexplains Jesus’ statement. In Chapter 2, verses 9-11, he says,‘God elevated him to the place of highest honour and gave himthe name above all other names, that at the name of Jesusevery knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under theearth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to theglory of God the Father’.So, when you are feeling discouraged or downcast, or thedarkness in the world seems to be closing in, take heart andremember these words of our Father God about our Lord andSaviour Jesus Christ. Those words are the truth and theyWILL be fulfilled.Thank You, Lord Jesus, for therevelation that You are King of kingsand Lord of lords. Help me to rest inthat truth and to trust You asSovereign, the one whose plans andpurposes will not be thwarted. Amen.Every blessing, Revd Mark

Funerals Mr Joseph Reid Wilson (Joe) of 42 Bovevagh Road, passed away in Altnagelvin Hospital on Wednesday 16thOctober 2019. As is commonly known, Joe had struggledwith ill-health for many years, but never complained andfought his every challenge bravely, with a quiet resolve. Theattendance of several hundred people at the funeral serviceon Friday 18th October was testimony in itself to the highesteem and favour in which Joe was held. He was a devotedfamily man. In his working life Joe was with Frank Dillon, served on the UDR and eventually branched out into his ownprivate digger work. Joe enjoyed the great outdoors, kept akeen interest in farming, particularly sheep, and had a gift oftraining sheepdogs from which many have benefited overthe years. Our prayers and sympathies are extended to Joe’s wifeLouise, daughter Joanne, sons Richard and Mark and thewhole family circle.coming up on Friday 17th January2020 .shake away the winter cold at aCountry Social Night withETERNITY SOCIALSFrom 7.30pm until 11pminDungiven Parish HallBuffet served at 10pm.Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for youare with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
