MAIN CONCERT SERIESWelcome to our35th Season!Thirty-five years ago, June Goldsmithfounded a concert organization whichbrought together friends and familyto her living room, where music wasperformed and enjoyed in a relaxedand social atmosphere. It is importantto note how innovative these morningconcerts were — concert programswhich repeated throughout the weekdaymornings, lasting approximately an hourwithout intermission.Today, we continue to grow in excitingand different ways, all rooted in thesame ethos our founding communitymembers brought to concertprogramming, community outreach, and the belief in the power of music. Our new evening series, ChamberPub, is a re-take on MITM’s past RushHour concerts. Our deep field workinvolving those experiencing poverty, homelessness, and autism are plantedon the foundation of worklaid before. Studies now show howmusic can reach people in waystraditional service programs, therapy, and medicine cannot.I am honoured to lead the enlargementof MITM’s community footprint with thehelp of the giants before me.Adrian FungEXECUTIVE AND ARTISTIC DIRECTORWEDNESDAYS & THURSDAYSVancouver Academy of MusicCoffee 10am – Concert 10:30am2020 –2021SE A SONFRIDAYSChrist Church CathedralCoffee 10am – Concert 10:30amSept 9–11, 2020St. Lawrence StringQuartetDec 16–18, 2020Miriam Khalil, sopranoand Kinza Tyrrell, pianoOct 14–16, 2020Johannes Moser, celloand Chiharu Iinuma, pianoJan 13–15, 2021Pedja Muzijevic, piano;Min-Jeong Koh, violin;and Adrian Fung, celloNov 18–20, 2020Pamela Frank, violinand Stephen Prutsman, pianoFeb 17–19, 2021Invoke QuartetMar 17–19, 2021Viano String Quartetand Martin Beaver, violaSUMMER MUSIC VANCOUVERJuly 2021NOON WITH JUNE:LUNCH WITH THE ARTISTS11:45am Mary Olson HallJune Goldsmith, C.M., O.B.C.November 18, 2020Pamela Frank andStephen PrutsmanDecember 16, 2020Miriam Khalil andKinza TyrrellFebruary 17, 2021Invoke QuartetMar 17, 2021Viano String Quartetand Martin BeaverSEASON SPONSORSEASON SUPPORTERSMUSIC IN THE MORNING CONCERT SOCIETYPO Box 95024, Kingsgate RPOVancouver, BC V5T 4T8604.873.4612 musicinthemorning.orgMAJOR SUPPORTERSJune Goldsmith and FamilyMartha Lou Henley Charitable FoundationMike and Kathy GallagherMary and Gordon Christopher FoundationAlan & Gwendoline Pyatt FoundationThe William and Irene McEwen Fund
