The deferred payment schedule is in line with the memoissued by UP President Danilo L. Concepcion last July 31.Around 634 of the expected 700 incoming students for the 1st Semester of 2017-2018 applied to the SFA Online application. Ofthis number, 373 students applied for both free tuition subsidy, STS and Tulong-Dunong. About 261 students applied for STSonly.Towards Excellence in Research & Creative WorksA MEDIA RECEPTION AND FORUM ON FOOD SECURITY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT was hosted by UPMindanao on July 6, in partnership with College of Mass Communication. Vice-President for Public Affairs Jose Dalisay deliveredthe message of UP President Danilo Concepcion. Students designed art for thebillboards, streamers, brochures, and the Plandocument, and for the bags, shirts, flashdrives,notepads,pens,andfans.Ananimation video for the stage backdrop wasproduced, the UP Mindanao Koro Kantahanaychorale performed, and faculty member JuliusPiala (Humanities) was emcee. Aurelia Gomez(SOM), representative to the Reg'l Dev'tCouncil, served as coordinator and also asreviewer of the Plan Agriculturist's Office, was hostedby UP Mindanao on 26 May withsome 66 stakeholders and theTRAINING ON BASIC CACAO PRODUCTION and a Field Visit were held on July 14 forUP Mindanao Dept. of Foodfarmers from the UP Mindanao Land Reservation in Compostela Valley Province. SomeScience and Chemistry51 farmers of the Dibabawon indigenous people representing the Laak Multi-PurposeCooperative, participated. Cacao seedlings were provided by Dept. of Agriculture.YOUTH RESIDENTS of Bgy. Bago Oshiro, DavaoCity availed of the Summer Art Workshop for Youthon 23 May.
