FROMTHEDESKOFFATHER ARENSSAINT STANISLAUS KOSTKAMy friends,This weekend we are back to the Ordinary Timeseason. This is "ordered" time to help remind us all thatwe are on our spiritual journey through life that will eventually bring us back to God. Time is God's gift to us, sothat we have the ability to grow in our spiritual lives, torepent, and prepare for eternal life in God’s presence. The first reading at Mass contains an interesting occurrence. When Elisha was going to abandon his farmingway of life and follow God's will to be a prophet, he hadto dispose of his oxen and plowing equipment. In a verysymbolic gesture, he took the wood of the equipment, created a fire, and then cooked the flesh of the oxen forfood.“CANDYLAND”A Sweet CelebrationSt. Stan’s Fall FestivalNovember 23 & 24, 2019We need your help to make our festival a success:· Help to defray the cost of putting on the festival byusing the special lavender envelope in your packetof giving envelopes. Please make sure you checkthe back of the envelope to let us know which areayou would like us to apply your gift. THANK YOUSt. Stan’s Fall Craft Fair is Saturday, October 26. Weare seeking vendors for the craft fair to be held in theschool gym and church hall. For a registration form, please email: ststans@hbci.com or call the parishoffice at 452-5430.We can see an interesting reference to the Eucharisthere. The wood of the cross of Jesus provided themeans of the sacrifice of the Eucharist. From thissacrifice, we eat the flesh of the Lamb and we have theability to follow God's will in life.It is the Eucharist that gives us the grace to live the life ofChrist and follow the will of God. The bible is filled withEucharistic references from cover to cover. It's a reminder of how beautiful our Catholic Faith is, and how Godhas designed the scriptures to be deeply embedded withthat faith.May the Lord continue to bless us with a beautifulsummer and a spirit of gratitude for all His gifts. In Christ,Fr.
