Getting To Know YouRuby Sisks’ Brief BiographyI was born on March 16, 1922 in Stella Arkansas, the sixth of eight children. When I was about five yearsold, we moved to a big farm in Piggott, Arkansas where we raised corn, cotton, and soybeans. Igraduated from Piggott High School in 1940 and went to Washington D.C. to work at the Pentagon in theAdjutant General’s Office for several years before moving to Austin, Texas. I worked for the CityManager, Walter Seaholm and eventually met and married Bill Sisk. We both had successful careers inreal estate, owning and operating our own business until retirement in 1975. One of the many highlightsof my career was when I served as Austin Women’s Council President in 1970. Upon retirement, wemoved to Dripping Springs, where I was active with First Baptist Church, volunteering at the Senior ThriftStore for 25 years, and volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor’s Center. I also served asPresident of the Friendship Club for several years.God blessed me with three daughters, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
