“Friends of the Library” Summer ConcertsConcerts start at 7:00 p.m. and are funded by “The Friends of the Library”. Unless otherwise noted,they are held at the tent in back of the old library. They playa variety of classic rock, pop, soul and blues. It’s the music thatalways makes you FEEL GOOD!!! We are happy to have themback to open our Summer Concert Series.July 15: Joey G. “The Birth of Rock & Roll”Journey back in time to the year 1956 with a DJ from Clevelandnamed Alan Freed as he brings the music he coined “Rock-n-Roll”to the Brookyn Paramount.July 22: Growing Old DisgracefullyGrowing Old Disgracefully is a NJ based Bluegrass Band playingmusic in the tradition of the original Bluegrass masters along withsome new songs destined to become classics. The group wasfounded by long time West Milford resident Larry Mandon (guitar)and his friend Eric Hendrickson (banjo), both veterans of the NJbluegrass scene, and is rounded out with mandolin and bass. Traditional harmonies, classic songs, and burning instrumentals aresure to entertain all ages. Dancing, clapping, and singing alongare encouraged.The Kingston Trio changed pop music between the late 1950’s and late 1960’s. Theybecame the most envied, imitated and successful pop group as they assembled theirrepertoire from many sources: urban andrural folk, calypso, folk-rock, show tunes andAmericana. They spun their arrangementsinto hits at college campuses, coffee houses, night clubs and in top record albums.Ken will play his vintage acoustic guitars foran authentic, back-in-the-day sound.This concert will be held in the largemeeting room at the new library.August 12: Saint Paul Seven“New York City in Song”Saint Paul Seven is a unique choral ensemble under the direction of Jean Volk. SaintPaul Seven has a repertoire which includesfamiliar classical works, spirituals, and popular compositions.July 29: The Desperados “Country Rock”The Desperados are a 5-piece group of musicians from the JerseyShore, bringing to life the songs of Country Rock. Country Rock isa uniquely American creation, combining folk stories with rock music inspired by the country musical traditions of Southern andWestern America. The Desperados all share a passion for bringing the Country Rock music experience to both new and familiaraudiences alike.
