Program Mission The mission of Lone Star College-CyFair, MedicalRadiologic Technology Program, is to provide acomprehensive education of structuredlearning experiences and to assist in meeting thecommunity’s need for medical imaging professionals.

Background Checks & Drug Screen Because of Hospital Requirements and ARRTTesting Requirements, Our Radiology programrequires a criminal background check and drugscreen before officially entering our program. This is to comply with ARRT Testing Requirementsand Hospital regulations This background check and drug screen ( 85.00)will be paid for by the student.

Background Checks The background check must come backwithout any concerns. All Students should have a valid SocialSecurity Number. (Some clinical facilities require a valid SSNin order to be accepted into their facility)

Background Checks & Drug Screen This will be done in July after notification ofacceptance into the MRT Program. The Background Check and Drug Screentests may need to be repeated prior to anyclinical rotation.

Suggestions from our students Don’t work while in the program or keep work hourslow (to about 15 hours / week) Be sure to plan for babysitting, if you have children,for not only class time but for study time. Brush up’ on your anatomy, chemistry and physics. Make sure you have backup babysitters on call.

Expectations Students will be required to havetransportation to each clinical site. Gas and car maintenance for yourtransportation must be added into the costof the program.

Program Admission Process Completion of pre-requisites BIOL 2404 or BIOL2401 and BIOL 2402 with a “C” or better within theprevious five years. The courses must have been completed prior tosubmission of an application for the RadiologicTechnology program (by the end of the springsemester in the year you are applying). If coursework is older than 5 years when applying tothe program, students must take BIOL 2404.

Selection Process The face-to-face interview will consistof a panel interview and essay writing.

Selection Process Students accepted into the program are also requiredto submit proof of required immunizations, TB test,Minimum of 1 documented proof of Hep B Injection,and proof of current CPR certification (2-yearhealthcare provider type). All expenses related to these items are theresponsibility of each student.

Final Acceptance Process Final acceptance into the program is contingentupon a satisfactory background check anddrug screen that is completed by a collegeapproved agency at the student's expense. Minimum of 1 documented proof of Hep BInjection Clinical facilities may also require completion of anadditional satisfactory background check anddrug screening.
