Only then can the suctionpower of the vacuum cleaner reachits optimum potential creating thebest possible cleaning results.,The use of dustbags made ofpaper or a similar material, ordustbags with a cardboard retainingplate can lead to serious damage tothe vacuum cleaner and possiblyvoiding the warranty, just as with theuse of dustbags without the"Original Miele" logo.Purchasing new FilterBags andfiltersOriginal Miele FilterBags and filters canbe purchased from an authorized Mielevacuum dealer or by visiting the Mielestore at http://store.miele.com.Which dustbags and filters are theright ones? This vacuum cleaner uses OriginalMiele FilterBags Type G/N and anOriginal Miele filters, the "Original Miele"Logo will appear on the packaging ordirectly on the FilterBag.An "AirClean" exhaust filter and a dustcompartment filter are supplied withevery box of Miele FilterBags. If you would like to purchase additionalMiele filters separately, contact yourvacuum dealer or Miele, please quotethe model number of your Miele vacuumcleaner to ensure correct parts areordered. If the marker completely fills theindicator window, the FilterBag needsto be changed.b Insert the new FilterBag as far as itwill go into the holder. Do not unfoldthe FilterBag when taking it out of thebox. How the FilterBag change indicatorworksThe airflow indicator is designed toshow when the bag is full of commonhousehold dust and measures theamount of air flow through the FilterBag.Normal household dust is a mixture ofdust, hair, carpet fluff, threads, sand, etc. However, if fine dust, such as drill dust, sand, plaster or flour is vacuumed, thepores of the FilterBag may becomeblocked. The marker will indicate thatthe bag is "full" even when it is not. TheFilterBag should be changed as thesuction power is greatly reduced. If the bag is bulging with pet fur, hair, carpet fluff, etc. the indicator may notregister "full". This is because the airflow of the FilterBag may still be highenough not to activate the marker toshow maximum. The FilterBag shouldstill be changed.Replacing the FilterBag(see fig. 17 and 18) Unfold the FilterBag in the dustcompartment. Push the dust compartment lid closeduntil it clicks into place. Take care notto jam the FilterBag in the lid.,An empty-operation-barrierblocks the dust compartment lidfrom closing if no bag is inserted.Do not force it closed. When to change the dust compartment filter (Pre-motor filter)Change the filter each time you open anew box of genuine Miele FilterBags. Open the dust compartment lid andraise until it clicks into place. When to replace the AirCleanexhaust filterThe FilterBag has a closing flap whichcloses automatically when the dustcompartment lid is raised to preventany dust from escaping. Each time a new box of Miele FilterBagsis opened, this filter should be changed.A new AirClean exhaust filter is includedin every box of Miele FilterBags.14
