Once the cleaning was finished, atexture was hammered onto the wing and a 2millimeter cubic zirconia stone was flush set intothe eye of the parrot to give it a sparkling finish!BENJAMIN FREIMANFACULTY SPONSOR: RYOTA TAKEMURA, ARTSteel Spider:Materials: 14, 16, 18, and 20gauge steel wire. The intricate and creepingmovements of arachnids and insects inspired me tochoose a spider as my subject for a wire sculpture.Wire has both organic and mechanical qualities inthe way it moves and bends, similar to the way aspider does. While building the body, I tried to keepthe proportions somewhat anatomically accurate, although I'm no entomologist. My goal is to one daybuild a full-sized steel sculpture in the same vein asthis one.ALEKSANDRA SZCZUREKFACULTY SPONSOR: THOMAS MACPHERSON, ARTHand of God: 24"x36" Watercolor, ink, pastel, gouache and charcoal on paperGolden: 18"x24" Pastel and gouache on paperERIN DONOVANFACULTY SPONSOR: PATRICE CASE, ART7: The Book:This is a bound book made of 7pages, each representing one of the seven deadlysins. Our task was to create a life size piece ofart that followed criteria such as patterns, movement, line quality and more and project it onto our art piece while maintaining goodcraftsmanship and detail. We could tape or gluecardboard together. However, we can only usecardboard. We have the option to design withcovering paper later on. Our idea was to make stairsthat go up with a figure standing somewhere on thestairs. Since the project has to be taller than thetallest person in our group, our project has to betaller than 5"7 - Marissa. We decided on the heightto be around 6 ft. After that we started cutting outstrips of cardboard to make steps. Each step had tobe about 8 inches and different inches long. We haddifferent lengths because each step was going toget be descending or ascending in different sizes. We also had to plan where to put or point ofcontact-we decided to put it in the middle.Charcoal Still LifeBox Project:Cardboard Staircase: Acardboard structure that accentuates the use ofcontour and implied lines in an abstract portrayal ofa staircase.Charcoal portrait of young childMonochromatic Master Copy(portrait): "Portrait of an Unknown Woman" byGINA ABRAHAM, MARISSA BENSONFACULTY SPONSOR: RYOTA TAKEMURA, ARTAMY-LYNN HALLERFACULTY SPONSOR: LESLIE STROZ, ARTERIN DONOVANFACULTY SPONSOR: PATRICE CASE, ARTMad Tea Party: An Object Study:Anobject study of cups featuring some abstractconcept.
