Note: ch, ll, and rrAlthough the Real AcademiaEspañola in Madrid, Spain, removedthe letters ch, ll, and rr as separateentries from the Spanish alphabet in1994, they have been included in theclass presentation for their uniquesound qualities when pronounced.It should also be noted that in theAmericas many Hispanic countriesstill recognize rr as a separate letterof the alphabet.

SPANISH PRONOUNCIATIONc and g The letters c and g are pronounced differently ,depending on the vowel that follows. A c followed by a, o, or u would be pronounce likethe k in “kite”. Consonants: k and wIn Spanish, the letters "k" and "w" are found onlyin foreign words. The "k" is pronounced like an English "k"without the puff of air. The "w" is pronounced like the "b/v" when itoccurs between vowels.
