.comOrigami Box With Lid InstructionsStart with a piece of junk mail or otherpiece of paper or thin card that youwant to make into an origami box. Ifyou are also making a lid you will needto have two pieces that go together sobare that in mind.I have opened this leaflet out andchosen two pages I like the look of andseparated them into two pieces.We need to make a square to be ableto start making our box and lid so foldthe bottom left hand corner up to thetop right hand edge and flatten it outcompletely.Cut off the rectangle of paper that isnow surplus.www.recycle-crafts.com
Fold the paper diagonally so that theleft hand corner meet the right handcorner.Make sure this is the diagonal thathasnʼt been folded when squaring thepaper off.Fold it so the crease is nice and sharpUnfold it and it should look like this.Fold the paper in half as shownMake sure the crease is nice and sharpagain.www.recycle-crafts.com
Unfold againFold in half again the opposite way andunfold.Position paper as shown and fold thebottom corner so that it touches themiddle of the paper.You can tell where the middle isbecause itʼs where all the folds cross.This should look as shown.Fold the left hand corner into the middlein the same way.www.recycle-crafts.com
Fold the top corner into the middle.Finally fold the right corner into themiddle.Fold the bottom edge so that it meetsthe centre lineFold this into a sharp crease. If you arenow making the lid see the instructionsfurthur on do not do this step yet.Unfold this making sure the triangle atthe center unfolds as well.www.recycle-crafts.com
If you are making the lid follow thesame instructions but instead of foldinginto the middle fold slightly short of themiddle as shown.This is so that the lid is a little bit biggerthan the box so that it fits comfortably.Turn the paper around so that the foldyou have just done is at the top. Foldthe new bottom side up to the middleFold this into a sharp creaseLet this unfold making sure that thesmall triangle in the middle unfolds too.Turn your paper 90degrees and fold thenew bottom side into the middle(remember if you are making the lid foldit a little short of the centre.)www.recycle-crafts.com
Let this unfold again making sure thatthe small triangle in the middle unfoldsas well.Turn the paper so that the last unfoldedside is at the bottom. Fold the bottomside up to the middle and unfold.It should look as shown.Unfold the left and right hand sides asshown.Fold the top and bottom sides up sothat they are standing like box sides.This fold uses the folds we have justmade.www.recycle-crafts.com
They should look like this. Turn the boxso that one of the unfolded points isfacing away from you.Position your fingers as shown andpush on the diagonal folds. Turn the box around so the unfoldedside is facing you.
